That starry night scene was the best part of the episode, and one of the best moments of the series. I'm glad they did it. I really liked the whole Van Gogh character story, monster aside.
Some interesting stuff to be found at the link below; check out the plan someone is trying to set up under "USA"

Last week I went to the Doctor Who Exhibit in Cardiff! So much fun, though I was a bit dissapointed they didn't really have anything on or from the new series. Also did a tour of the Millenium Center and the lady was also a big Doctor Who/Torchwood fan so she had loads of fun information.
I went to that exhibit when I was in Cardiff last September, and hope to get there again this year. Maybe by then they will have some stuff from the new series. Did you explore the area around Cardiff Bay, i.e. getting a photo of you on "that" stone by the water tower and seeing other Torchwood related sites?
BTW, for those who might have seen reports that Matt Smith will be leaving after this series, bear in mind that the source of that article is The SUN, Britain's version of the National Enquirer. Karen Gillan said he wasn't going anywhere.
Matt is contracted for seeeeveral seasons, I believe.
Information I've seen re his contract is that it's for three years with an option for two more.

No way they'd contract him for only two years - since Smith was barely known before this, he didn't have much negotiating power, which meant that the network could rope him in for longer. (Not that I'm saying that Smith wouldn't want to hang on to this role for at least three years, but a shorter contract means more flexibility to try and get more money later.) All in all, kec's information looks fairly plausible.
People on the message board at David-Tennant.com said that the same thing happened when he started playing the Doctor -- rumors started flying that he was leaving after two series. Thankfully he did not. :)
As for Matt, he's been enthusiastic about voicing his enjoyment in playing the Doctor, so I doubt the Sun story has any merit.
For those who may be interested, the Doctor Who Proms are being presented Saturday night at 7:30 (2:30 EDT) and Sunday at 11:a.m. (6:00 a.m EDT) Matt Smith, Karen Gillan and Arthur Darvill are hosting. It can be heard live and on listen again via BBC Radio 3. Information and a link to the radio site can be found here:

Heh. If you look at the credits at the end of the program you'll find that the show will involve more than Smith, Gillan, an orchestra and a choir. Heh. I'm going to need to get video of this; I don't think a radio broadcast alone will do.
The information I read indicates that it will be filmed to be broadcast at a later time. Which is what they did with the last Doctor Who Proms. Hopefully they will make this one available on a future DVD set, like they did the last one.
Found this quote on Twitter:
"If an apple a day keeps the doctor away - Daleks should hide in orchards."
Here's an interesting blog from someone who sang in the chorus durning the Doctor Who Proms last Saturday. A very interesting comment by Arthur Darvill (Rory) who is apparently a big fan of musical theatre. There is a link to some lovely photos taken during the concert and if you check YT for "trouble at the Albert" you might find something interesting and funny
The Proms concert is available on BBC 3 Listen Again until July 30.

Want to hear a bit of DAvid Tennant's American accent? Check out this clip:
Rex is not Your Lawyer Clip
his scottish accent comes through every now and then and no......not a great american accent. But, David *SWOON*
It's mostly his "r's" -- it's like he's trying to supress the way he normally says his "r" but otherwise I thought it was ok.
God I love it when he walks up and over the sofa.
The Doctor Who prom is to get a UK television broadcast on Monday 6th September on BBC3. No word of any HD broadcast, but it'll be on the iPlayer for a week afterwards and I'm sure non-UK audiences will be able to track down copies from somewhere
Also, the West End board has a thread on the upcoming Doctor Who stage show touring in the UK from October...

EDIT: Kec, thanks for the link to the Proms blog!

I posted a request on BBCAmerica's Facebook page for them to show the Proms concert, but goodness knows if they'll listen.
I'm bummed I'm going to miss the Doctor Who live show; I'm going over for the Les Mis events but I'm returning to the U.S. on October 4. I'm even missing John Barrowman who will be playing the RAH on the 4th!!
So, do you think the Doctor will be a guest lecturer?

I think that picture of the companions is one of my favorite things ever. I even went to deviant art to check out the rest of the work!

Rumor has it that David Tennant's mini series "Single Father" will air in the UK the second week in October.
