Any gay people here?

Of course she's a gay icon, she's bitchy, she looks good in a black cocktail dress and she's talented. She's Bette Davis, Cher and Judy Garland all rolled into one.

Any gay people here?

You got me on this one. I have *never* understood GOProud's fascination with her.

All the more reason to stay as far away from that bunch as possible.

1/3 of this is correct. Maybe less.
"You travel alone because other people are only there to remind you how much that hook hurts that we all bit down on. Wait for that one day we can bite free and get back out there in space where we belong, sail back over water, over skies, into space, the hook finally out of our mouths and we wander back out there in space spawning to other planets never to return hurrah to earth and we'll look back and can't even see these lives here anymore. An icon is not, by definition, necessarily a positive. It is a person, thing, symbol, etc that embodies one or more qualities and is identified by a culture. If that definition is accurate, Coulter is an icon of hatred and evil for all decent people.

"If that definition is accurate, Coulter Maddow is an icon of hatred and evil for all decent people."

There I fixed that for you.

Any gay people here?

Goth could you please cite an example of Rachel Maddow attacking people on their physical appearance or calling them satanic..Oh Wait! OF COURSE YOU CAN'T! Never mind!!
#8

Any gay people here?

I do like my gay icons to come with seething contempt for gay people.

"I do like my gay icons to come with seething contempt for gay people."

Well, it does make some sense if the gay people hailing her as such have a seething contempt for themselves.

Any gay people here?

Maddow is an icon for hatred and evil? Well, I guess that makes sense in the world where Coulter is a gay icon. The world that obviously isn't the one in which we live. But I'm sure there is some plane of existence where Andrew Dice Clay and Pat Buchanan get married and fight over who gets to bottom.

Maddow had to apologize the other night because she ran a year-old clip of Rush Limbaugh and said it was a quote from the day before. Then in her apology, she calls Limbaugh a racist for "Barack the Magic Negro" when in fact it was David Ehrenstein that coined that phrase.

Maddow must be peeing her pants that gays like Coulter more than her.

Somehow, I don't think Maddow is losing any sleep over anything or anyone GOProud favors. Except maybe in that weird universe where your post makes sense.

Yes, Maddow made a mistake, and then she issued a retraction. That's what responsible journalists do.

I'm just glad to know that I can use the phrase 'watermelon-eating porch monkey' and, because I didn't coin it, I am not a racist!

Members of GOProud are about as representative of the gay community as Clarence Thomas is of black folks.

Any gay people here?

Wow Goth, did YOU miss the point. In your world is there really an equivalence between making a mistake (and apologizing) and calling someone a fragrant pie wagon or Demonic? Really?

And incidentally, that was not what happened- She used a clip of Rush and said it had been this year because that is how it was labeled on You Tube. Turns out it was from LAST year. The quote was accurate- it was just WHEN he said it that was wrong. And, as pointed out, when it was called to her attention she apologized and issued a correction. To contrast, When Ann Coulter mistakenly says something like exposure to fallout from a nuclear accident is good for you to name but one error-- well, she digs in and keeps demanding it's true. Quite a difference
Maddow apologises
#17

Any gay people here?

^^^The point is that she wanted to believe that Rush had said it the day before. So she throws all journalistic integrity aside and runs with it, despite having the resources of MSNBC at her disposal to do the five minutes of research work that were required to identify the quote.

Any gay people here?

You're right, Goth, in that she should have. On the other hand, it's not like it's out of keeping with Limbaugh's character or the sort of stuff he does still say.

But let's stick to the point: When a journalist and/or their organization makes an error like this, you think that makes them icons of hatred and evil.

Is that correct?
#19

Any gay people here?

Ah so it WASN'T a mistake? Just her being--what--evil? Stupid? She reported it knowing she was wrong? Why in the world would she do that- knowing that people would be able to prove her wrong? That seems odd to me. There is an old research adage that says "Hear hoof beats? Think horses, not zebras." i.e The simple explanation is almost always right.

I wonder how you explain Ann Coulter's frequent errors: The radiation remarks, the 'Michelle Obama ran up a huge room service bill' story or the 'Michelle Obama got a $250,000 diamond ring story' or, of course, the 'Barack Obama wasn't born here' myth. Is it just that Ann wants to believe it so she tells the story? Does she know she's wrong but doesn't care? Has she ever issued a correction and apologized?

And I can't help but notice you still haven't supplied an incident whee Maddow made fun of a person's looks or called them demonic.
#21

Any gay people here?

Here's another, related question, Goth: Do you think it's wrong that Limbaugh said it?

If you do, let's discuss that a bit.

If you don't, then what does it matter that she originally said that he said it recently?
#22

Any gay people here?

She reported it knowing she was wrong? Why in the world would she do that- knowing that people would be able to prove her wrong?

Well, I can understand how fans of Fox News would automatically leap to such an assumption.

When a journalist and/or their organization makes an error like this, you think that makes them icons of hatred and evil.

No, it's the admission and apology that really makes them satanic. Only good hetero American conservative Christians refuse to admit they were wrong, praise Jesus.

Any gay people here?

"On the other hand, it's not like it's out of keeping with Limbaugh's character or the sort of stuff he does still say."

No that is not true. As I have said before, you have to listen very carefully to what Rush is saying. He specifically speaks cryptically because he knows that the MSM will grab one of his quotes out of context and make a big deal about it. And Maddow is one of those that continues to make that mistake. It's not the first time she's misquoted Limbaugh.

"When a journalist and/or their organization makes an error like this, you think that makes them icons of hatred and evil."

As I've already said, Maddow was specifically looking for a reason to make Limbaugh look bad. That's where her hatred comes in. She continually misquotes him in an attempt to make him look bad. She's way out of her league.
If anyone ever tells you that you put too much Parmesan cheese on your pasta, stop talking to them. You don't need that kind of negativity in your life.
#24

Any gay people here?

What's interesting to me is that Maddow picked up the clip from the right-wing WorldNetDaily, who had labeled it as being from the day before.

So can I assume that "evil" applies to them as well?

Similarly, when Fox News gives misinformation--without, incidentally, retracting or apologizing--does that make them icons of evil and hatred?

Goth Outraged over Rachel's Honest Mistake but Allows Fox to LIE 24/7

Goth, that is the most pathetic and desperate argument I've seen you make yet. Your ignorance is just too much. I have difficulty thinking even you are buying your own BS about Rachel Maddow. Ann Coulter is a hateful woman who can not back up any of her crap. Just last month on Bill Maher's show she "Claimed" all the the jurors on the OJ Simpson case were liberals. Of course, when Bill asked her to prove it she said,'well I bet they were'. SHE IS A LIAR and has been proven to be numerous times before.

Rachel made an honest mistake(she was relying on a right wing website World Net Daily who said it was from earlier that week,so why aren't you going after the RW Hate site you hypocrite?!) Rachel did the fair and honest thing. If any of the nuts over at Fox did this they would be apologizing and retracting comments 24/7.Of course, if Rachel has not apologized and ignored her mistake you'd be trashing her as well. Your not fair and you are a hateful hypocrite.

You have ZERO credibility here. I can't even believe the crap you ditto spew anymore.
