Why did Kathleen Marshall agree to do this??
I am and from that intro...this has a chance to be good. For those who aren't giving it a shot, 50 are going onto the next round based on singing and dancing.
Then they go to the "Grease Academy" where they have intense singing, acting. and dancing sessions. Then the judges pick the best 12 (total) for America to vote.
Oh Kathleen...
edit: anyone just see that black haired girl...oh lord.

Oh puhleeeeeze. As if this woman isn't a character actress, she's probably being paid by NBC to be there.
Ok..this is why I can't stand these shows......
They insist on showing these auditions like that "Robin" woman.......just so out there..... it's ridiculous
Does anyone know which "professional" actors will be auditioning in the NY sessions? Anyone we'd know?
Also--I love how everyone seems to be forgetting that Grease was a show before it was a movie. I have a feeling this revival is going to be "the movie on stage".
They did metion once that is was on stage before it was made into a film. But why are they pushing the movie idea so much? Idiots.
Probably because the idea of the movie sells better. It's the version that's most well known, after all.

I'm surprised they didn't have an age limit. Even American Idol has an age limit.
I'm excited for the dancing, personally.
Okay. Had enough. Changing channels.

How many of these threads for crap shows like this does the world need? There are several ongoing threads on the main board, including one just like this that is called "Grease Chat".

Yes, but as I am sure you know, only douches hang out on the main board.
Word, Colleen.
Oh, wait, I just posted on the main board. Crap.

And yet another hit show in Europe that'll die in America...
I thought this was a terrible idea ever since it was first announced.

Like American Idol?
And you can't make me leave, Colleen!

this would make so much more sense, and be much more interesting if they were casting the ENTIRE show from these auditions.....
off-topic for life...yo?
Ah, who am I kidding. Anyways I hope the show will get more interesting when the "talented" people are left.

Agreed Wendy. I, personally, think watching all these stereotypical thin, blonde, young girls going for the ingenue and pretty boys singing for romantic lead is going to get real old, real fast. At least with American Idol you get a good cross section of vocal types and backgrounds.
I'd rather they be casting for Frenchie, Doody and Rizzo or something. More room for variation and personality in those roles.
This show is going to be dead in the water just based on the UNBELIEVABLE repetition of songs so far! There are songs OTHER than Hopelessly Devoted To You and There Are Worst Things I Can Do!

American Idol is a perfectly executed show that hasn't suffered the same fate as other imported shows.
