Are you pro-choice or pro-"life"?

I'm pro-choice definitely, in all cases. Actually, I put quotation marks around life, because a small cluster of cells is not a life.
So, are you pro-choice or pro-"life"?

Posted: 9/10/08 at 8:58pmPro choice. And my choice is life - for me. I will not tolerate having a bunch of old men in Washington TELLING me what's moral and what isn't. It's between me and my doctor, or me and my God. NOT my government.
A click for life.

It's pro-choice or anti-choice.
It's about not forcing one's own views and not forcibly exerting control over others, or doing so.

Posted: 9/10/08 at 9:04pmEveryone should be pro-choice, it's whether or not you are against abortion. Some times an abortion is the best decision. In the instance of rape it is more for the mothers sake, having to carry your rapists baby, having the scars forever. Or if there is something that could be discovered soon after conception that could cause cause the baby pain & suffering it's whole life; It would be better to stop that from happening. But if you got drunk at some party & had some fun it was your fault, you should have to go through the pregnancy.

Posted: 9/10/08 at 9:19pmI'm not for abortion, but I'm not going to tell a person what to do with their life.

NGD-
My thoughts exactly. It should be legal, however it should not be allowed for people who are "accidentally" knocked up.
re: Are you pro-choice or pro-'life'?#9
Posted: 9/10/08 at 9:34pmIt should be legal in all cases. That girl who got "knocked up" might have a story behind her. Maybe she just doesn't want to have a baby. Maybe she can't afford it.

Posted: 9/10/08 at 9:37pmNo I'm talking about going through the pregnancy, whether you raise or put it up for adoption is up to you.
re: Are you pro-choice or pro-'life'?#11
Posted: 9/10/08 at 9:44pmIf you're going to place stipulations about in which instances a woman should "have" to have the baby, then you are not pro choice at all.

Interesting thing about abortion in Canada:
It is neither legal or illegal. It exsists in a legal black hole of sorts. Abortions are allowed to be performed in the country but there is no legislation proclaiming that it is legal.
Politicians didn't want to touch it on either side.
Of course, it is regulated.

re: Are you pro-choice or pro-'life'?#14
Posted: 9/10/08 at 9:52pmQuite honestly, I guess I lean more towards being pro life, however I do think there are some circumstances where abortion should be allowed. But definitely, I am against terminating a pregnancy late into it. That is just cruel, in my opinion. You all can disagree with me, but this is what I believe.

Several strands of pearls, of course.

There's no place else I can attribute life beginning except conception. I really believe that that is when life begins. In science classes and textbooks, it's always stated very clearly that new life begins when a sperm fertilizes an egg. Yet this seems to be thrown away in abortion debates. I can't understand giving some arbitrary point to where life begins. It certainly isn't when the baby leaves the mother's womb. I'm sure many mothers would be aghast at the suggestion that the baby growing inside them was not a life.
However, I absolutely do not want women putting themselves through unsafe procedures, which is exactly what would happen if abortion became illegal. I know that life is complicated. I wish that women would explore their options, if just because of my beliefs of when life begins, but making abortion illegal would hurt a lot of women.

"it's always stated very clearly that new life begins when a sperm fertilizes an egg. "
At that point, and for some time after, it is not a baby. It has the potential to be a baby, but for quite some time it's a mass of cell tissue not unlike a bloodclot. I don't believe that if you have that mass removed from your body you are killing a human being.
That's my personal belief and I'm not trying to force it on anyone.

Pro-life, but in the circumstances that the mother is in danger, like an ectopic pregnancy, then I feel that it is the only realistic option.

Why? During an abortion, the fetus feels nothing! IT'S NOT A LIFE! NOT DEVELOPED! CAN'T FEEL ANYTHING! GO ON YOUTUBE.COM/USER/WITCHLEMURE. WATCH HER VIDEOS! THEY ARE GREAT ABOUT ABORTION!
Also, there's this Croatian lady who does videos on abortion, too, but I forgot her name. I'll look it up.
