Are you freaking kidding me? What does he possible stand to gain from this? I mean aside from death penalty or life in prison as a convicted pedophile murderer which pretty much guarantees being beaten and killed by the other prisoners?
I am amazed at these "gut feelings".

from two different stories:
his wife says he was at home with her the day Jon Benet was murdered.
He told Thai police that he picked her up at school and killed her in the basement. (her parents put her to bed in pajamas and couldn't find her the next morning.)

I read this too. That just seems bogus, she was found on December 26, the day after christmas. What would she have been doing in school on the 25 or the 26 of december?

"He told Thai police that he picked her up at school and killed her in the basement. (her parents put her to bed in pajamas and couldn't find her the next morning.)"
That doesn't make sense either. Her body was found the 26th of December and unless Colorado is different from the rest of the country, schools are not open the day after Christmas or Christmas day for that matter.

Posted: 8/17/06 at 1:56pmI know, I said it's crazy but, my 'gut' just says that this doesn't add up and the guy didn't do it. Stranger things have happened, it's not like people have never given false confessions. I know it doesn't make sense, but I usually have pretty good instincts with stuff like this. I knew the parents didn't do it from Day One.

CNN has not been reporting the school stuff--are we sure that's what he has been saying?
Anyway, I agree that we should wait and see. Hopefully, if this guy isn't the killer, he will lead to the truth.

MSN tends to get a lil tabloidish on these kinds of stories I have found. They obsess over these stories and will report ANY new info/"info".
DNA--that's the question. There has always been commentary that the police botched a lot of the evidence.

The district attorney in the JonBenet Ramsey slaying said Thursday there is "much more work" to be done in the case against the suspect, and she warned the public not to "jump to conclusions."
She refused to answer whether authorities were worried Karr was lying about killing the little girl. Lacy said Karr has not been formally charged, and declined to speculate what counts he might face.
"John Mark Karr is presumed innocent and I can't comment beyond that," she said.
Karr told investigators he drugged and had sex with the 6-year-old beauty queen before accidentally killing her, a senior Thai police officer said Thursday. An autopsy done a day after her body was found said a blood screening showed no drugs or alcohol in her body but said she had vaginal abrasions.

This is what CNN was reporting......
"Karr said in Bangkok he was with the child beauty queen when she died and called her death "an accident."
"I loved JonBenet," he said.
Asked by a reporter if he was an innocent man, Karr replied, "No."
As far as DNA, I heard something last night about hair found...but then again with all the other murders going on I may be getting them confused.

Also wasn't a stun gun used?
I do remember there was DNA under her fingernails and underwear but police couldn't find a match in their database. If this is the guy, the DNA will prove it.

He is the most gabby suspect ever.
According to the AP:
"The American suspect in the killing of JonBenet Ramsey told investigators that he drugged and had sex with the 6-year-old beauty queen before accidentally killing her, a senior Thai police officer said Thursday.
An autopsy on Ramsey said a blood screening showed no drugs or alcohol in her body but said she had vaginal abrasions."
It's so gross to read a six year old referred to as a "beauty queen."
And yet something else that doesn't ring quite right about the confession.

What's not adding up? How many facts are there yet?
I love how a man who has confessed to the crime is being given more of an "innocent until proven guilty" consideration than the mother was.
I never said her mother killed her. But, from everything I read, things make no sense to me. It's not adding up. People confess to crimes they didn't commit, every minute of every day. Just go to any police station in any town in this country. In addition to the above posted stuff, I also read that he claims he drugged her. There is no evidence of any drugs in her system, in the autopsy report. I hope they have the killer, and this can be put to rest; but nothing is really making a whole lot of sense, at the moment. They do have DNA that has never been matched to anyone. So, hopefully, it matches this guy.

Posted: 8/17/06 at 4:46pmThe drug comment I might be willing to take with a grain of salt because there was evidence that her killer had used a stun gun and that may be what he's referring to. If this guy is faking (and I'm not saying he is, but if he is), he is still a psycho who is obsessed with this case so one would think that he'd know every detail backwards and forwards. The school thing is definitely not true as it was Christmas but I haven't seen that quoted anywhere yet. I would still like to know how this guy was so familiar with that huge mansion that he could manipulate his way into the basement and about the random $118,000 ransom demand. If he used a stun gun and was going to kidnap her, he could have just left the house instead of risking everyone hear her scream by raping her and killing her in her own house.

Posted: 8/17/06 at 5:16pmI've watched a large number of Law & Order: SVUs and, I just don't think somebody who kills somebody is going to risk getting caught while sneaking back into the house to stash the body, and sit down and right out a long ransom note on a pad that was in the house. But then again, I'm not BD Wong. Any chance we could get him in here for a consultation?

Splinters from the broken paintbrush were found near the body, so I think it's highly unlikely that the crime was carried out elsewhere.
Here's one theory about how the crime was carried out (and remember, it's just a theory): Some think that the killer got into the house earlier, probably through the broken basement window, while the Ramseys were out visiting friends. He spent a good deal of time casing the house, wrote the letter on Patsy's notepad and hid in the basement waiting for everyone to go to bed. The killer used a stun gun to immobilize JonBenet and carried her downstairs. When he got her to the wine cellar, he started to assault and strangle her, until she woke up. Panicking, the guy grabbed a big, heavy flashlight (found at the scene) and hit her very hard in the head, hard enough to literally shatter her skull, and left.

Posted: 8/17/06 at 6:30pmOkay, I'm watching MSNBC right now, and they've got a guy on who says that just because the DNA found on JonBenet's body did not belong to her parents does not mean that they can't be ruled out. Um, WTF?
