I am fortunate to have missed most of the picks listed. My own #1 nominee is THE DAY THE EARTH STOOD STILL.

Maybe, but I'd rather sit through all 20 of those films than hear those butt wipes discuss them.

Don't Mess With the Zohan.
That film was horrible beyond reason. Not since "Moulin Rouge" had I left the cinema before the end of the film.
Dreadful.

I've only seen about seven of this years films so far, and my two worst at this point are Synecdoche and Rachel Getting Married.
Twilight deserves to be much higher up. That film is PAINFUL. I wanted my money back until I realized that I was watching it on YouTube. At least the actors tried, but the material, not to make a horrible vampire pun, just sucks.

Lyons is such a terrible critic. He's a total whore.

Also, SYNECDOCHE NEW YORK is my pick as the best film of 2008.
Vantage Point was TERRIBLE. If anyone say it, when the movies does the annoying rewind thing, by the third a man shouted from the back of the theatre "Oh what the FU*K." This was just a ...STUPID MOVIE.
I have only walked out of one movie and had to fight with the manager that I wanted my money back, that movie was Taladega Nights. I loath Will Farrell.

Hmmmm. THE DARK KNIGHT isn't on either of their lists.
And yet it was the biggest waste of my time in a movie theater this year. I don't spend much time there, so I prefer if it's not wasted.

You must have not have seen AUSTRALIA then.

Thank You! I only went while waiting on my car to be repaired. I left and happily spent the rest of my waiting drinking ghastly coffee, a much better use of time than that dreadful movie.
My vote for the worst film critics of the year. Wait it's a tie! The two Bens!
Ben There Done That
and
Ben Thinkin' This Show Sucks For a Long Time
They prove that movie critics have lost all their respect and have basically gone the way of the dinosaur. Great job, guys!
I third that the Dark Knight was worst film of the year, a horrible long boring, dull two and half hours of nothing.

Nothing quite equalled the horror of MAMMA MIA and SEX AND THE CITY, except possibly the boredom of BENJAMIN BUTTON. For me at least.

AUSTRALIA and MAMMA MIA are definitely my picks as worst of '08.

It is such a pretty house! It's a shame no one lives there.
I was forced to watch Speed Racer on a flight. I actually hoped the plane would crash and put me out of my misery.
The worst piece of crap I saw this year was definetely HANCOCK ! I found it pretentious, boring and the worst script and character development I've seen in years ! That Will Smith managed to make a blockbuster out of this car wreck, is a testament of his admirable star power !

"I worked on one of the worst movies of the year."
...I'm trying to get used to this new distinction.
No big deal for me. It wasn't my own project and I got paid well, made some friends. It's better than most jobs out there. It's all good.
I just saw Rachel Getting Married. and I'm sorry, Anne Hathaway did an alright job but didn't deserve the nomination.
SPOILERS:
and the movie was terrible. During all those speeches and dances, I was wondering: how is this furthering the plot line of the story. I bet the writers were thinking that by having people give those speeches, we could either learn something about them or something about the people they were talking about.
and when Rachel was watching her mother drive away, and said her name, I knew I was suppose to feel something for her, but I felt nothing. I didn't care about her character.
Though i have to saw, the best person to watch was Bill Irwin as the father. So funny!! I loved him onscreen.
I actually though the new hosts were halfway decent, until I read that Ben Lyons thought I Am Legend was worthy of Oscar consideration. I think that kind of destroys any credibility he might have had before that.
Max Payne gets my vote for worst of the year. The most tedious and predictable film I have ever seen. Complete torture.
