... "and that spells DALLAS"...
Yes. Dallas! The Metroplex.
Where its cheap to live, the weather is great, and hosts QUITE REMARKABLE local theatre!!!
(Not to mention the best damn BBQ you EVER ate!!!)
What more can you say about a place where you can visit Southfork Ranch AND the THE Original Neiman-Marcus!
Let's hear it for Dallas!!!
Spent so many summers there rooting for semi-decent professional sports teams and going to Six Flags! WOO WOO!
PHYLLIS!!!!
HUH, Rath?
Phyllis. Bobby's secretary. My good friend Deb Tranelli played that role for 9 years.
Oooh... neat!
Did your buddy enjoy working with the rest of the "Dallas" cast?
She loved that job, yes. Even though her lines basically consisted of, "Bobby, your mother is on line 2," and "Here's that fax you wanted." And, "Yes, Bobby, right away."
Ah yes. The exquisitive Miss Tina Louise. She demanded too much money for the "Gilligan's Island Reunion Special"--so they replaced her with Judith Baldwin.

Loved the character of Phyllis because it was the first(only?)time I could remember a pretty woman being given that name. Phyllis Diller really ruined it for those of us given that homely name.
Back to Dallas - visited it for the first time last summer. Great place, but my God, it's surrounded by miles and miles of flat land. Loved the people!
Yep, bluemoon.
Dallas IS kind of on the "static" side when it comes to scenery.
But there are LOVELY flowers and plants in the Dallas Arboreteum!
Bluemoon - all these years later, she's still beautiful.
And Judith Baldwin - didn't she end up on GH? That name puts me in mind of one of my favorite long-ago GH characters...(I didn't actually watch Dallas...)
Don't think so, Rath.
According to the IMDB, Baldwin's only experience with daytime soaps was a brief stint on "The Bold and The Beautiful".
Maybe you're thinking of Judith Chapman who played Ginny on GH many moons ago?

Rath - Is she the same Deborah Tranelli who is a cabret singer? Heard her a few years back, but didn't make the connection.
Yes bdwaygirl, thank you! Loved her.
And yes, Bluemoon, she is a cabaret singer. She put out a CD a few months ago that I highly recommend.
Which I bought right after that and can recommend highly. I think the Phyllis thread was one of our first Rath.
SOMMS!! Deb brought us together?
Yep, I do believe it to be so. Because I loved her on Dallas and because Phyllis is my mother's, aunt's and grandmother's name.
Well I'm sure glad you love the CD. I gave a bunch of autographed copies as Christmas gifts.
Now about that in-person autographed anything from a certain cousin!
Did I tell you he sent me an autographed copy of his calendar? My, my...
The high-rise blue-plate Office Building that was portrayed on "Dallas" as the location of Cliff Barnes' Oil Company is actualy the Fina Oil and Chemical Building.
I was on a consulting project with Fina there for six months!
I've seen two or three photo's from the calendar. Steamy! Have I told you how much I LOVE YOU!
You love me because my cousin is hot?

"Phyllis is my mother's, aunt's and grandmother's name. "
Ah,yes, we are always someone's grandmother or aunt. We need some hot young thing named Phyllis to hit the airwaves. The collective self image of all the Phyllis's in America would be grateful.
Considering changing my name to Esmeralda.......
