Ebonic, this wasn't my favourite of yours, but I still think your voice is dreamy.

Ok, I just got home. I was out longer than I thought I was going to be. I am about to listen to the clips now.
Hey Guys,
I just got home and listened to the clips. Wow...just...wow.
Being an ex-contestent I feel it is a tricky thing for me to share my thoughts because I know that a few people will be compelled to throw the "well what do you know, you were already voted out" card at me. I hope this isn't the cace, but I understand if it is. Any critism I give is meant with the best of intentions of improving for the next week. At this point I can honestly say I respect each of you as a singer and fully acknowledge that you are a better singer than me.
Anyways here are my thoughts:
Allie - This song was the perfect one for your tone of voice. Your sweetness of tone really fit right at home. Which was great, but also a problem in the context of the competition. It was too safe. Try something risky. I think you will be surprised, and so will everyone else.
bway86 - Really fun and mellow. Really nice and easy tone, which fit with this song. It started off really strong, but some of the phrasing becamse sloppy later on. Can't wait to hear what you do next week!
Ebonic - Your easy tone was really suited to this song. As a triller I know how tempting it is to do, but I think you should have held back a bit more, at least at the begining of the song, and let the simplicity of the song shine through. That in mind there are some nice vocal embellishments here that DO add to the song. Great work overall, I only wish that the quality of the recording itself was better.
Jerby - Pretty flawless, except for the small fact that I would love to hear more colouring and dynamics. It seemes like even when you were being quiet, you were being loud, if that makes any sense. Let those quiet moments become even more tender and thoughtful, and almost smokey in tone, that way the more belty moments stand out more too.
Kitzarina - Kind of the same critism as Jerby. I there are moments where I wished you were a little more quiet and let that sadness and bitterness show through in a more subtle way. But overall quite good, and I loved the opening. You win best intro this week....a title normally dominated by Jerby.
Spidey - WOW! I think I prefer your vocals better than Adam Levine's, no...make that I am SURE I do. Amazing control of your falsetto, something that is really hard to master for most guys. Really no constructive criticism I can give, sorry. It was jsut that good.
WesternSky - Okay...So I am a little biased. Since I AM you lover. I just wish you were a little louder on this recording in comparison to the piano, that is. You showed great emotion, dynamics, clarity and control with your performance. 908w4qyt0w34ty6...sorry...that was my drooling short-circuiting the keyboard. I will be your Jaime any day...minus the cheating and egoism. It kind of makes me want to record Nobody Needs to Know to woo you.
Overal AMAZING work guys. I DEFINITELY did not deserve to be in this group. I can say that flat out. I dont think anything I could have done would have lived up to the level you all brought it up to this week. A pleasure to listen to every single one of your songs.
And a note to the judges...I think you should change up the order a bit. I think it is only fair. Randomly draw from a hat.

Where, oh where are Patty and Tiffy?
We NEEDS the Scoreses!
Ok, this is going in order I am listening to it.
1.) Kitz--LOVE your intro . . . I laughed so hard. I am glad that Patronus got that karaoke for you. Great job! The biggest problem that I had was that your voice was louder than the background music. I think it is an Audacity problem because I can equalize my voice and the karaoke music either. And trust me, I have tried more times than I want to think about.
2.) Bway86--DUDE!! This is the performace I have been waiting on. You have an amazing voice and your mic/audio problem has been fixed and your voice shines it's brightest. GREAT, GREAT JOB!!!!
3.) Allie-- "And I was meant for you." Was that directed towards me? hahaha. Great job, sweetie. This is def. your best and the song fit your voice to a tee. But, I agree with everyone else . . . do a gut busting, no holds barred song next week or future weeks. You have it in you and I think that you will blow us out of the water.
4.) WesternSky--First off I love this song and Secondly I love your voice and thirdly I love you singing this song. You have the right amount of emotion in your voice and those high notes. . . GAH!!!!! You just rock, and that is that. AMAZING JOB!
5.) Jerby--I can picture you with a boa on and you sitting on a grand piano at a smokey bar, singing this song **swoons**. hahaha. What can I say? Every week you bring it and there is no negative criticism whatsoever. **Bows at your feet**
6.) Ebby--Etta James is my favorite singer of all time and "At Last" is one of my favorite songs and I think you did a great job. Same as last week though . . . your audio is kind of muffling your voice. What software do you have? Other than that, I am so glad you are back in the competition.
I am really impressed with the calibar of everyone's performace this week. This is def. the best week of this competition and I am going to be sad to see anyone one of us go. Whatever the outcome, keep singing. Also, no more leaving this thread when people get voted off. We are losing people left and right.
This was a really incredible week for BWW Idol. Nearly everyone one in the competition gave their best performances this week and one person gave what I think is the performance of the competition. It was really quite difficult to score these and choose the two best because everyone gave some excellent performance.
Without further adieu...

I absolutely love the tone of your voice. My two favorite things about you in this competition are the way that you assume the personality of the person who would be singing your songs and the way that you consistently pick songs that aren’t obvious crowd pleasers and make them truly enjoyable for everyone. You really put yourself into the songs and make them your own. You are very in tune (no pun intended) with your strengths and weakness and pick songs that really highlight your strengths. This was another really great performance in string of them for you. Fantastic.
Western Sky (9.9)
Wow. That would more or less sum it up. From a purely vocal standpoint not taking focusing on lyrics, context anything it was an absolutely beautiful vocal performance. It is quite possibly the best version of that song that I have ever heard. It’s very reminiscent of Lauren Kennedy’s version which, up until now, has my favorite. The only thing that is keep this from being an absolutely perfect rating (which I can’t imagine I’ll ever give) is that I think it might be a little too strong in the belts. Again, vocally it sounds phenomenal, but when you put the song in the context of the show with the lyrics I think that Cathy would be a little less powerful at times which makes the transition from the belting parts to the soft vulnerable lines a bit closer together, but that is just a minor nitpick and one that would be more appropriate if you were doing the role live on stage versus trying to win a singing competition.
This is easily the greatest performance of the entire competition for me and I’ll say right now that you are the overwhelming favorite in my personal opinion.

This was a really great week and song choice for you. You had mentioned in the thread that your voice got a little raspy from trying Always and Forever a few times. I actually think that helped you out here. It gave a really nice and raw feel to song. I was very impressed by your range and enjoyed this performance more than any other I’ve heard from you so far. Excellent work!
Allie: (8.6)
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. I really enjoy how sweet your voice is. It’s very raw and honest and as odd as this may sound – comforting. This is a step in the right direction in terms of showing a little more in your voice, but I am still waiting for you to really think outside the box and do something big and ballsy. I think a big diva-esque voice is inside there and it wants to come out, but it hasn’t yet. It’s a very consistent performance for you. Excellent tone all the way through. Now, I challenge you – Blow me away next week.
Bway_86: (8.6)
The quality difference of the song makes a tremendous difference for you this week. This is a great comeback week for you. Easily your best week. What I like best about your voice is that while you aren’t the best singer in this competition, you pick songs that fit in your range very well. It presents this sense of effortlessness which is very pleasant to listen to. You aren’t straining for notes at any point. I think you were on the ropes last week and this is a great start in the right direction. I think you may want to challenge yourself a little bit more vocally to make a strong push for the finals, but this was easily your best performance. Nice job.
Kitzarina (9.1)
First off, your speaking voice reminds me of Joey Lauren Adams who played Alyssa in Chasing Amy. While that is completely irrelevant for the purpose of this competition, I have to say that I like it a lot.
Now…onto your performance of one of my favorite songs of all time…
Very strong. I love the fact that you didn’t try to sound exactly like Fiona Apple. I think that would have been a mistake. You made the song your own and kept it in that strong sultry, jazzy place in your voice. It’s a very passionate song and you were able to control that and not get too lost in the belt. The balance of control and passion is really the key for this song and you did very well. Nice job.
Ebonic_Singer: (8.5)
This is my favorite week from you as well. I still think that there was too much riffing throughout the song and I think I would have enjoyed it a lot more if you had focused more on displaying the nice range and quality of your voice rather than occasionally “over singing”. Just like last week, I think the riffing tends to make you lose the melody at times and then it starts to get a little pitchy.
Personally, I am not a big fan of “riffing” in general so that might be a roadblock for me, but I would really like to hear you do a song with a little less movement and show a simpler side to your voice. I think you can make the song your own without putting forth so much effort. I love your range and I think you could use it more to your advantage buy allowing the soulful qualities of your voice to shine though more with emotion than with riffing.

*runs in*
My Internet JUST started working again. I've been hitting "refresh" for the last 3.75 hours. I'm not even kidding.
I'll type up my comments for the last 3 contestants. In the mean time, voting is open (I texted Cam to tell her to tell you guys to start voting to my Inbox but I guess she's not online) - Two people again this week! I'll be back in a moment!
(Weren't Kitzy and Ebby grand?)
Thanks everyone for your comments.
Anyone have a particular song that they are itching for someone to sing next week, because I am all ears.
Akiva, what did you mean by changing up the order? There isn't any strategy in it, except alternating male-female.
"And a note to the judges...I think you should change up the order a bit. I think it is only fair. Randomly draw from a hat. "
There is no order.
It is random.
Patty once again fantastic comments and I can say without fear of contradiction they are EXACTLY how I feel.
This is one of those moments it is nice that we share a brain.
Too many sordid details, Peng.
Sorry about that order comment...totally wrong about it.
I realized the reason was because I have been downloading the zipped file of all of them, which is in alphabetical order.
Ignore me. I have been running on 7 hours of sleep for the whole week.
Akiva
Alright, I'll just put in my comments for the three singers I wasn't online for.
broadway86 (a.k.a. My Valentine ) - This is probably your best performance in the last few weeks; at the very least, it's as good as "Home", and you know how much I liked "Home"! Now that the audio quality has improved, it's much more enjoyable to listen to your songs, and I think the score and your votes will reflect that. I find the song to be a bit boring and repetitive, but you sound good. Watch out about being flat (both in pitch and in emotion) - I hope you find something totally out of character for you next week, but this was a good song choice for you to perform within your comfort zone.
Kitzarina - You know I've been critical of you for the last few weeks. Well, this was your best performance so far and probably one of the best in the contest - neck-to-neck with "Maybe This Time"...maybe even better. Some of your notes were flat, but it didn't even matter. Hell, the dissonance may have made the song more effective! You already won me over with that intro (Screw you, Brian!), but your sultry, sexy, jazzy interpretation was original and restrained. I have it on repeat right now. Most importantly, your style and attitude in the song really came through and compensated for your flaws - and your voice made me hot. Terrific.
Ebonic_Singer - You started out a bit weak, but soared. You know how I feel about your riffs; they're like cheesecake - good in small, select doses, but not in large amounts. The first few riffs were good, but I think you went a smidge overboard at the end, and "pitchy" a few times. So keep it in check, and restrain a bit. Nevertheless, I think this is one of your best clips so far, and I'm glad you're back. I'm alternating between you and Kitz on my iTunes tonight! Given your moniker, you have no reason to suck for next week's theme. Just exercise a bit more control and maybe choose something range-y but a bit more...simple?
These are my scores (keep in mind that these are relative to previous weeks too, and the highest score I've given before this week was an 8.2):
1) Kitzarina - 8.4
2) jrb_actor & ebonic_singer - 8.3
3) WesternSky2 - 8.2
4) Allie - 8.1
5) Spiderdj82 & broadway86 - 8.0
"I have been running on 7 hours of sleep for the whole week."
I could be so lucky to get that much sleep!
LOL - you're forgiven, Akiva. But keep in mind that I've been running this mofo after doing 17 hour days (not including the 1 hour commute each way) on set for the last week.
BSo! Go get sleep! We don't need you grumpy...you are mean enough when you are well-rested! :P
And Tiff, much pity. Hah... my overtiredness paid off in my audition today. I was being goofy and the rest of the models were being stuck-up and stuff, and I think the auditioners told me they appreciated a laid-back person after a long day.
Akiva
Akiva.. if you recorded Nobody Needs to Know.. it would make me the happiest girl alive!
Hah...that is my mission for next week then.
Akiva
What are people thinking of singing? I've got jrb's song for next week. Anyone else?
