*shudder* Please, no one sound twangy. I strongly dislike country.

On a completely different topic, anyone else love the song in Nunsense where sister Mary-Amnesia is talking about how she was going to be a country star?

PM me too about good software - or post it here, since I'm trying to avoid my PM Inbox so the outcome's a surprise (as much as possible).

Wow, that IS hick-ish! I'm applying to U of C tomorrow!+

Go to the "preferences" and you should see a thing that says "Device." Find your microphone on that and it should work.

good Law School that's for sure. My dad is a prof there (not the law school). Good luck!

And Kitz...maybe you should stop doing dirty deeds to your mic and it will be more cooperative...or maybe do more.

Hah. I really will love the irony if I end up spending all this time and effort not to make it through.

bww idol - pop/rock group 2 at 5pm est! next week's theme: country

Type_A_Tiff
1. Kitzarina – You chose the most daring, “out there” and challenging song in this round and it was a huge risk. It’s a wonderfully acted piece, especially considering you only have audio to make an impression with. I didn’t think it was long enough to test you, but it’s obvious that you’ve got a great voice, range, tone, blah blah blah. You know you’re good. bww idol - pop/rock group 2 at 5pm est! next week's theme: country So I think even though this wasn’t the best song to show yourself off, you’ll probably be safe this week and I look forward to see what else you can do! 7.7/10

2. WesternSky2 – I chose this song for you and I think it paid off. So far the best performed song this round. You’ve got an appropriately haunting and soulful voice that works perfectly. Better than Sherie Rene! I wonder if it’s nerves that make your voice tremble so much, or if that’s your vibrato, but whatever it is, I’d tone it down a bit because it’s almost as if you’re singing on a train. bww idol - pop/rock group 2 at 5pm est! next week's theme: country And best of all, unlike most of the songs we’ve heard this round, you packed a lot of emotion and heart into it. Loved it. 8.2/10

3. Cruel_Sandwich – I could barely understand what you were saying; all I know is it scared me a bit and I felt like I should check my window for an unmarked van. “All I care about is love”…from little boys? bww idol - pop/rock group 2 at 5pm est! next week's theme: country Work on diction, mic work, clarity…just…I’m sort of creeped out. Good movie tastes though! 4.0/10

4. broadway86 – I had high hopes for you after last week, but I think that was a better performance than this week. Watch for mic problems, but you’ve got a pretty tone and voice, pitch and it was a good showcase of your range. Put more emotion into it though – especially to compensate for the lack of accompaniment – so it doesn’t get boring. And maybe try something more upbeat next week. 7.8/10

5. TheatreDiva – I’m proud to say I chose this song for you as well, and it paid off in spades. It was an obvious choice after hearing your beautiful soprano, and dare I say, “Emmy who?” I still say you should “sustain and restrain” those high notes, but you pulled it off with great diction and emotion. 8.0/10

6. Allie – I also chose this song for you and maintain it would’ve been a good choice had you not sounded so bored because you had all the emotional range of a Keanu Reeves movie. Hit the notes, it was pretty, but oh so BORING! You didn’t even crescendo during, “Should I scream and shout?” – shouldn’t you be near your breaking point?? But I think if you work on this, you’ve still got a lovely pure voice. 7.5/10

7. Paradox_Error – Between “Maria” and “Feed Me”…you sure know how to pick ‘em! (Not.) Oy. This gets filed in the Thoroughly Creeped Out And Don’t Know What To Think About It bin. Have you met Cruel_Sandwich? But at least you took a risk and…well, props for that! 7.1/10

8. Rathnait – Good. Much different take than Kelly’s, which was refreshing, and more melancholy and haunting. Great dynamic range. Good. Will we ever see you sing with accompaniment? 8/10

PS. Have you guys voted yet?

Nope, but I should probably create a FAQ, lwyr! All you need to know is we post clips weekly (last week we had three groups go on three different days; this week there's two groups; and from next week onwards, it's one group) - this week, only 5/8 people from each group moves on. Group 1 went last night; group 2 went today. Voting opens for the public from when the last clip airs until the next afternoon (I'm usually pretty good about posting that stuff in the thread title or first post).

Everything major that needs to be known is in the first post, including the finalists, clips and contestant biographies. It's not necessary to follow the ramblings on the thread to follow the contest - just check the first post to DL the clips and then send in your vote! (You pick one person and stick the name in the subject title please, since I don't open the PMs.)
