Herman is my favorite male dancer at ABT.

Herman is very friendly as well. He saw me during intermission at Giselle and came right up and said hello. He danced the pas de trois, so he'll be seen in the telecast of Swan Lake.

The Act I pas de trois is the part I first saw him dance about four summers ago at The Met. Incredible beats. Now why did he come up and say hello? We have danced one role in common, Puck in Ashton's The Dream.

I had a p/t job with the company when I used to live in NYC so we were familiar with each other through that. But there is a funny story behind that. I was in the wings watching at the Met when he danced the Bronze Idol for the first time. He was magnificent. I congratulated him at the end of the ballet and he gave me a huge hug and then realized he got the bronze body paint all over me!!! He felt bad, but we had a really good laugh over it. Now the only time I see them (ABT) is when they travel to DC. I was just surprised he remembered me (with the sea of people mingling about during intermission).

I LOVE ABT! I saw them in NYC two years ago, DC last year, and I'm planning on seeing them this year in NYC. Swan Lake & Le Corsaire. Everyone in that company is AMAZING!!! I can't wait to see them perform again!!!

You must go then and see Don Quixote when Angel Corella is dancing. His pirouettes in the 3rd act are simply amazing.

Was the "Othello" DVD the production that featured Desmond Richardson?

Loved Rudi.
Got to perform with him for a month at the Mark Hellinger(I even had to try on his Spectre de la Rose costume when he got sick and had to miss performances. But instead of going on, four weekend shows were cancelled as the season was sold on Nureyev's name.) and for three weeks at NYST. Contrary to the rumors, he was a sweetheart.

The Moor's Pavane is an amazing masterpiece.

Oh my gosh! Didn't the Joffrey perform Moor's Pavane about 4 or 5 years ago?

... I saw a performance in Chicago that I'd forgotten about until now!

Yes Addy, Joffrey did perform The Moor's Pavane in Chicago.
Joffrey has done it many times over the years.
Can't believe you were here and imagine, we may have crossed paths in the audience. :)

...I saw it in 2000. (edit: I THINK. Would that be right?)

Oh, I loved that ballet!

What a wonderful thought that you and I might have crossed paths...

The Moor's Pavane is a masterpiece, no doubt.
Yes Addy, 2000 sounds just about right.
But Addy, meeting at La Cage Aux Folles was even better.
The bird cage was stunning!
