Yep Yankees suck. I love going to games though.

Considering my team in the Braves I know exactly how it feels to support a team that has made the playoffs for thirteen years and everyone always says how much you sucks. Just the one world series in all that makes us definitely suck worse than the Yankee's though.

I can't wait to get back up to see another Yanks game but I'm trying to see the Mets and Braves later in the month.

I think its weird how fast most people seem to be hitting the panic mode, it's such a short time into the season it seems assured the Yankees will right the ship soon.
Today is as good a day as any to get it on the right track though.

I'm not a Yankees fan 'cause my dad was a HUGE Yankees fan and I HAD to be against him. Now I live in Seattle... so I HAVE to not like them.

I'm not in a panic, but if the pitching only improves a little as opposed to improving a lot, I can definitely see a third-place finish in the Yankees' future. Ugh.

Hey folks...a couple of things, since I've been off the past couple of days.

1. Plum, I'm w/ you on the whole Bubba thing! I love Bubba Crosby. I find him oh so amusing. I remember back to back classic moments w/ him last season: 1.) Falling on his ass while bunting (hi.lar.i.ous) and 2.) A less than graceful slip and fumble in the mud in the outfield trying to catch a fly ball.

2. Any verdict on the whole Sheff/fan incident at Fenway? I'm really not so sure that this was entirely intentional. I watched the re-plays over and over again, but there's something about it that just seems off (mainly the fact that the guy isn't even looking at Sheffield when he was supposedly hit) I guess Sheffield is supposed to be meeting w/ the commissioner tomorrow. Should be interesting to see what happens.

But when did New Hampshire become--Such a backward wasteland of seatbelt hating crazies?...I mean, only 40 people actually live there. The others are just visitors who come for the tax-free liquor and three inches of novelty coastline. John Hodgeman on The Daily Show (1-30-07)

Intentional? Yeah, there was intent on both sides. The dumb**** fan intended to interfere with the play and quite possibly thwak Sheffield in the face, and Sheffield intended to shove him in turn. I think that, all things considered, Sheffield behaved reasonably well. He should be fined but not suspended. The fan should lose his season tickets at the very least, the idiot. And someone should look into the asshole who "accidentally" spilled beer on Sheffield, too. This isn't a European soccer match.

Oh I'm totally not denying that the guy was trying to interfere w/ the play in some capacity, I'm just not so sure he was maliciously going for Sheffield. The beer thing was also an odd thing. From one angle, it definitely looked like he threw it at him, but from another, it kind of looked like that woman next to him may have knocked it (I know she was kind of backing up and sort of fell into him at some point...it was hard to tell exactly what happened and when).

The Knicks do suck. But I was offered free floor seats tonight, so I figured why not? And it went into overtime too, oy. I'm going back to baseball, that's more fun. But my next Yankees game isn't til May 1, seems so far away!

Hey, the Braves are sucking things up as well. We can all get together and have a "what the heck is wrong with the bums?" party, I can't believe the defensive collapses.

Red Sox won today on Patriot's Day :) I think the fans are getting too out of hand - does anyone remember (or care) that last year in game 7 (I think) of the ALCS when the Red Sox were batting late in the game, Yankee Stadium had police in riot gear -riot gear - on the field (first base side) to protect the team from fans. When did it stop becoming the national past time and turn into something like an exercise in riot control? And it's not just the Yankees and the Red Sox - I guess it's anywhere where there are fans. We just seem to hear more about these two teams because of the rivalry surrounding them. Oh well.

I think of the incident in Detroit earlier this basketball season and the crazed soccer fans throwing flares at the players in Europe. I think we are working from the deranged position that violence is the answer to unhappiness and the sports attacks are one of the symptoms.

Yeah, I remember the police in riot gear during the ALCS. I forget what prompted it though...didn't a fan throw something at Johnny Damon (a water bottle or something)??? It's sad, really...and yet, not all that surprising.
