#1204

playoffs

Daaaaaaaaamn.

Come on, Angels...come on!
What the puck?!

playoffs

I was hoping the 'Stros and the Angels would win, so there would be no baseball on Monday, and they'd show a re-run of Arrested Development, but oh well. In any case, my guide said they were going to show back-to-back Prison Breaks, anyway.

In anycase, I would have rather had my Redbirds beat up on the Braves like we did a few years ago in the DS, but I'm sure we'll have another great 'Stros-Cards series again.

Wow, last year at Busch Stadium, best record in baseball, probably the NL MVP and Cy Young - it's a great time to be baseball's best fans here is St. Louis! Go Redbirds!!!

GO CARDINALS!!!
#1206

playoffs

The Cards are the class of the NL for sure, but the AL is a tougher league. I think St. Louis will have a bit of a shock from whomever it plays in the World Series (assuming it gets there).
#1207

playoffs

Ok, let's go boys!
#1208

playoffs

Strangely, I don't feel too bad about this game. Yes, Mussina's been terribly inconsistent, but the Yankees have been known to mop the floor with Colon in the past. We'll see how it goes- whatever happens, the White Sox will be the less-exhausted team in the ALCS by leaps and bounds.

Ugh, I feel sick.
#1209

playoffs

What the heck just happened? Did Colon tweak his back? Help! I'm stuck watching dots here!
#1210

playoffs

I have no idea what happened and I'm watching it on tv!
#1211

playoffs

It's probably his back- it's been bothering him for a while. Unless he got hit by a comebacker or had to cover first during the first inning. He wasn't limping when he left, was he? Probably not; that would be an obvious clue the announcers would pick up on.

Oh, never mind. The Angels are in deep you-know-what, and that warms the cockles of my evil Yankee-loving heart.
#1212

playoffs

Oy, this is going to be a nerve-wracking game...
#1213

playoffs

Cano, you *%&^. I mean, I love you, man, but what are you doing trying to steal second so early in a game where the opposing starter's been knocked out? This isn't a "we must score 1 run" situation. Don't waste outs. Oy.

ETA- Okay, it was Colon's neck/shoulder, according to my Super Online Updater of Awesomeness. Poor fella.

playoffs

Apparently it was Bernie's mistake on that one....

But this pitcher is throwing balls all over the place!
#1215

playoffs

What mistake? Bernie just scored. Unless you mean the Cano thing? I'm confused.

And yeah, this Santana isn't quite up there with the Twins' Santana, is he?
#1216

playoffs

They said Colon had an inflammed right shoulder.

Ok, 2 runs, not bad! Arod needs to get his act together. "Anxious"??? Come on!!!!
#1217

playoffs

Quit picking on the guy; he was by far the league MVP during the season, and the Yankees wouldn't be here in the first place without him. I know it's a bizarre ritual to put every new player on the team through the "Is He A True Yankee?" test, but that's really crap.

David Wells, TRUE YANKEE, adorer of Babe Ruth and beloved of so many Bronx fans, almost single-handedly killed the Yankees' chances in the 2003 WS with his laziness-induced back problems. Derek Jeter, TRUE YANKEE, never hit a grand slam until this season.

I don't know about you, but I'd never take Aaron Boone over A-Rod at third base, ALCS homer or no ALCS homer. That same guy was a black hole in the lineup in the World Series days later. When it comes down to it, good hitters can more often be counted on to hit well, no matter what the situation. There's definitely such a thing as a clutch hit, but I'm not sure there's such a thing as a clutch hitter.
#1218

playoffs

OMFG!!!
#1219

playoffs

Moose!!! What are you doing?!

Oh, lord. We need a slugfest. Pick up your bats, all you men of the lineup; you have a long, hard slog ahead of you.
#1220

playoffs

Moose is fine!
I can't believe Bubba and Sheff just collided and they both missed the ball!!!!!
#1221

playoffs

WHO JUST SAW THAT CRASH IN THE OUTFIELD?

i'm DYING of laughter right now. even better, they BOTH missed!

playoffs

Shut up Beka.
#1223

playoffs

*headdesk* See, the little dot outfielders don't move. I can't tell what's happening, especially because I'm writing a paper at the same time.

ETA- At least Moose is okay; that speaks well for the reest of the game. Now go, Giiiiiambiiiii!

Plum, I'll try to keep you updated on major things.
#1225

playoffs

Heh. I love when the Updater Thingy says "Pitch 3 in play, no out recorded."

And stays that way. For 20 seconds. And I'm like, c'mon, guys! Even a run-down doesn't last that long! And then I start tearing at my 3 remaining hairs, then it finally updates and says Sheffield got a single. *twitch*
