I thought it would be crap, but I was wrong. I laughed more in the first ten minutes than I thought I would for the whole thing, so I'm in.

It's not what I expected and it's funnier than I expected. I can't see myself watching every week but if I were home every Tuesday or a shut in, I would TOTALLY look forward to spending time with my TV friend Neil.
HOWEVER, I don't think gay hosts should be forced to appear onstage with Gloria "The Gays & I Agree to Disagree Because I Have No Opinions About Anything Other Than What's in The Bible" Gaynor, even if she recorded the most karaokeable song in history.

Yeah, I really didn't know what to expect, but I'm pleasantly surprised with what I'm watching. I probably won't be a religious watcher, either, but I would easily tune in if I had nothing else to do.

She looks younger than me. I might have to look into this "Jesus"!

Gloria will be happy to talk to you about it but if a wall goes up she will change the subject.

I liked it overall. But I do think the show needs less fanfare & a quicker pace. I didn't care for the first segment. It seemed staged and the couple didn't look all that surprised.

I thought they, he especially, looked mostly bewildered. When NPH walked away from them at very first, the husband looked really shocked the bit wasn't going to be longer. They probably knew something was up, but I don't think they knew what to expect. I dunno.
I think the pace will pick up once they've done a few. A couple of snafus aside, technically, they had it together. The fanfare, however, I think is baked in.

I felt like I was watching a daytime talk/entertainment show like Ellen meets The Price Is Right. Maybe because of the prizes and the chats on the couch. It was a bit clunky but at the same time I kind of liked it being all over the place because I never quite knew what was coming. I think he should find top musical, dance, Broadway, magic and circus talent and it will elevate the show and make it more of a must see/DVR experience. Was the little boy one of his kids? I thought he handled himself ok I just think he could expand himself beyond the dry personality so he comes across more 3 dimensional.

I don't think Little NPH is one of his kids. i think his kids are younger, but I dunno.

I'm a NPH fan, but I found it to be mostly insufferable. I had my fill of him and the show before the first commercial break.

It is a live show. Many on it are not used to be working on a live show likw this. They will stumble through a few episodes before they get their footing. I wish they would lean more toward Variety Show then Nighttime Daytime Show.

What the producers thought would be a great 1st segment (stalking the couple), completely flopped because the couple wasn't engaging. And the payoff of the honeymoon had almost zero reaction.
Also something happened to NPH between his Tony hosting and Oscar hosting. He just doesn't feel like a natural host anymore.

It's a goofy, odd show, but it's a nice change. I'll tune in next week. No, Little NPH is not Big NPH's real son.

This was FAR from the Best Time Ever for me. I watched the entire show hoping it would turn around for me but by 11pm I looked to my partner and we both agreed - it was more like the "Worse Thing Ever". Yes Florida - we agree and thought the exact same thing.
I was eager to read the thought by everyone here - thank you. Many comments were exactly what I thought too!
Namo: "They coulda called this show Martes Gigante!" Yes I thought this exact same thing!
ACL2006: "less fanfare & a quicker pace" Really....it was all over the place. Felt like I had A.D.D. - I was looking all over the screen for the squirrel to run across!
Phyllis: That couple in the first segment. I didn't know what to make of it myself. Was Neil digitally added into the background? Was it real? By the time the punchline came I was just as dumbstruck with do I laugh or not as the couple on stage receiving the prize!
SmoothLover: "I felt like I was watching a daytime talk/entertainment show like Ellen meets The Price Is Right." YES this had a daytime time slot feel! Exactly where I felt this was more fitting and not in a 10 pm time slot (or 8 pm for that matter).
SNAFU: "I wish they would lean more toward Variety Show then Nighttime Daytime Show." YES
The Karaoke part was cheesy.
The American Ninja Warrior bit...insert eye roll.
The biggest laugh I got was The Voice joke. Loved the gag he pulled with the interview. Catching Blake and Adam walking away with the WTF bleeps. Almost wished that NPH actually sang at his best to make the judges turn around to see him in the gag costume instead of singing horribly and not getting them to turn. It still was the best bit.
Overall I was disappointed. Had a very egotistical feel from NPH but unfortunately this proved that not everything he touches turns to gold.

Self-indulgent. That's the one word that kept popping into my head throughout the show.

I happened to be in the audience for it and it was exhaustively dreadful. I adore NPH but this show boarders him just showing off for the sake of showing off and it will get old really quickly if changes aren't made. The bits off camera during commercial breaks with NPH interacting with the audience were more entertaining than the overly showy segments where NPH puts on his Barney-Stinson-like character. If Neil was just his talented self, everyone would be happier and the show would be much better.

I usually find NPH tiresome but I didn't with this. I think he seriously overestimates the general laymen's interest in magic, but I still think this show was a lot more enjoyable than I ever would have expected.

I enjoyed this, although I look forward to seeing what it settles into being, like any ongoing show...
NPH certainly commits, though. Girlfriend gives things 110%...
