If you read the article, the headline should actually read:

I never find assault funny, even under the most whimsical or circumstances.

Can't see the humor in it at all. She might be insensitive and perhaps even cruel, but that does not excuse his behavior at all.

I agree that domestic violence is never a justifiable solution, but I also agree with a comment left at the end of that article ...

"Sounds like the wrong witch died."

What the hell did she think she was doing?

So much is left out of the story. One can assume that the man's mother and his wife must not have had the best relationship, but whether or not that warranted mocking her death (especially since it clearly upset him) is hard to say. Of course, nothing excuses him assaulting her. This is just a gross, terribly unfunny story.

I think the weirdest part was including those photos from the MGM movie as if they somehow made it amusing or "whimsical."
