re: re: re: Britney Spears on Primetime

mmFan, Diana sawyer started laughing hysterically to the point that she was crying and asked "Did you REALLY think Justin Timberlake was a breeder" and then Britney bawled.

re: re: Britney Spears on Primetime

diane sawyer simply said "you had a rough year... first mexico and then fans calling you a fraud in London...and then the big break up" and then britney went "hello... strong britney" and pointed her finger at the camera and bursted out crying hysterically and said "im embarrassed can we please shut the cameras off"

re: Britney Spears on Primetime

You can actually watch a clip from that. I don't have the link, but it was on the welcome screen for my other aol name. They show the part where she was crying and asking that the cameras be shut off.

I forgot she was gonna be on tv last night, so I didn't watch the interview, but I'm starting to wish I had. re: Britney Spears on Primetime
I consider myself a once-upon-a-time "Closet" Britney fan. But lately I've atually been admitting to people that I listen to her music sometimes. I didn't really like her music when she first started out, but I like the newer stuff. She reminds me of a young Madonna. It doesn't bother me that she doesn't have "talent" in the sense that Broadway performers do. That's why I see Broadway shows; so I can see real talent. But she is a natural performer (not necessarily singer), and it's a nice break from Broadway sometimes.

For anyone here that does like Britney, she is having a cd signing Tuesday night at 6:30pm in Times Square at Virgin Megastore. re: Britney Spears on Primetime

re: re: re: Britney Spears on Primetime

There are similarities between Madonna and Britney--but Madonna can at least sing the genre live (oh, I know she has had some bad moments live, but she doesn't rely on lip syncing). Madonna's music has always been good--that plus image has kept her around for 20 years. Brit and anyone else has to be able to do both.

People thought that Cyndi Lauper would be the huger star ultimately--she does have the amazing voice between her and M. I hope Aguilera can defeat that possible fate---she def deserves to.

Britney Spears on Primetime

This is a totally alien concept to me. You go to a concert and the performer is lyp-synching? What is the point? Just to be in the same room with her??

re: Britney Spears on Primetime

Has anyone been able to get that video link to work yet?

And WHERE is Anthony, for pitty's sake. This thread is right up his gutter.
PEACE.

re: re: Britney Spears on Primetime

From the clips I was ufortunate enough to be inundated with via email today, (I'd never waste a second actually watching something Spears is on voluntarily),I'd say the girl honestly belongs on the *short bus*. She is one of the least inspired interviews I've ever seen/heard. Say what you want about 22 yr olds,(I know I do), she's just plain DUMB, for any age! Here's what shows in AlD's crystal ball for Spears, two words, Debbie Gibson. She makes Jessica Simpson (voiceanth's lovechild) seem like a brain surgeon. What a mess. I'm not even going to bother discussing her "talent", since that's a moot point. she has no talent to speak of. The difference between Madonna and Spears, besides light years, is the fact that Madonna had something to say. Spears is a bubble headed porn star, masquerading around as a pop star.

re: re: re: Britney Spears on Primetime

When Brit was on TRL this past week (I think), she sang most of "Me Against the Music" live. And you can definitely tell what's live and what's not. Her voice is louder and deeper live, then it is recorded.

And the Brit concert I went to back in 2001, she sang live. And one way I could tell was when her dancers were screaming at her during the "Drive me Crazy" bit, Brit's mic picked up parts of their voices.

Yeah, but just because her microphone was picking up their voices doesn't mean that she was actually singing live. They turn her microphone on so that every once in a while she can give an "Ooo" and "ahhh", and make it seem like she's actually singing live.

re: re: re: re: re: Britney Spears on Primetime

EXAMPLE TIME!!!!

--Brit's HBO concert -- the finale. a HUGE rain effect. Brit is standing there singing into a "live" mic that has water striking teh mic head directly.. 1.) You would here it and 2.) it would KILL the mic because there was no water proofing anything on it

--a recent TV performance.. Brit sings and she sounds all loud and pretty and smoth tones and her voice is pretty much yelling on the last beat of the song. As soon as the beat hits, she tries to thank the audience immediately, but her mic was turned way down and you couldn't hear her AND the sound overlapped.

--another TV performance. an energetic dance number.. everyone is dancing up a storm, the dancers are all sweaty and gasping you can see Brit's chest heaving but she is always on perfect pitch and in perfect tunr.... never faultering once. The end of the song hits, she goes to thank the audience and you can hear her gasping to catch her breath all of a sudden....

OY *rolls eyes*

She's handled so much more than any of you could probably ever handle during the most insecure years where people change the most, especially emotionally. For any of you to attack her is just shooting yourself down further, because you know damn well that you could not handle a career the way she has. Remember she was FIFTEEN when she started. A year later she released her first single and she became a national hit, less than a year later she was a worldwide icon, at 17. I couldn't even begin to imagine handling what she has handled in the past five or six years, and you know damn well non eof you could do it.

I don't know what makes you think she's so stupid. I'm not gonna say she's a brilliant woman, but she's not stupid. If she was so stupid, she wouldn't be able to have a career like this. She knows how to get her name out there, and that's how albums sell. Notice how this thread was started and you all joined in to talk about her, she's got you in the palm of her hands. No wonder she was named the world's most powerful celebrity. She's mastered this entertainment business at the age of 21. I'd like to see any of you TRY to accomplish what she has, you know you couldn't.

And in reality, yes I do think she has class. The way she dresses is an act and nothing more. God, she's said it many times. I think she's got a good heart and a better head on her shoulders than most people her age, in a sense. And she's got a better head on her shoulders than most celebrities out there.

"Like, Madonna wanted to, like, include a scene in my video, like, and she said "Yo, Brit, won't It be like KEWEL if we had a shot of me like, munchin' your butt? And I'm, like GUH-ROWSS! I mean, that is like SO not me! Yee-UUUck! I mean, I could see why she might want to do that. She's like, really OLD and stuff, and yeah, she's my idol and all that, but she just like felt that she needs to tap into my, like, fan base, y'know?"

Someone needs a course in Drugs 101. Most commonly used perhaps, but relately soft mild drug in the whole scheme of hallucinogics.

During the screaming part, Britney was singing...

FAI - As soon as the file is up again, you can watch Brit sing "Me Against the Music" live on TRL here. You have to scroll a little bit until you find "NEW! Mtv Trl - Me Against The Music Live". You also have to click the little + tab.

re: re: Britney Spears on Primetime

One of my best acting teachers trained us never to say "like" ever. If anyone did you had to do 20 sit ups. It helped break the habit and makes you think before you talk. Maybe Britney needs to do that. :P

re: re: re: Britney Spears on Primetime

I won't comment on Britney using the word "like" too much because I am guilty of doing the same thing. The worst part is I realize I'm doing it, and still cannot stop. re: re: re: Britney Spears on Primetime I really have to try harder.
Hey, newyorkuniq, care to share the advice your teacher gave? Maybe you can PM it to me. I would really appreciate any help I can get to stop using that word so much. :) Thanks.
