Bronies -- specifically that term, not just guys who like MLP -- are responsible for a whole lot of sexualization of MLP and putting that stuff in the fandom where little kids can see it. And getting angry when this girl's children show doesn't cater to them.
But really -- when guys get really into something marketed towards girls, they get a documentary. When girls get really into a show marketed towards boys, it gets canceled (see: Young Justice, which was a great DC cartoon with good viewership, but too much of it was girls who 'didn't buy action figures,').

Bronies say that a true Bronie would never sexualize the ponies. :-/

I think it's great that some of these outcasts have found something to be passionate about and find friends with common interests. The production of this documentary does seem pretty poor, but I'd be a hypocrite if I started mocking these guys.
It's one of the things I love about con culture in general. When I go to a Comic Con it feels like one of the least judgmental places on the planet. In a generic con you have many different interests and some of it I'm into and some of it I am not, but everyone has that common denominator of being extremely passionate about something and understand what it means to get goofy about something that most of society would deem "too geeky" or a "waste of time". I love that feeling.
Now back to the mean spirited, regularly scheduled programming. :)

"Bronies say that a true Bronie would never sexualize the ponies. :-/"
Just like any group there are going to be people who take it to an extreme and that is the portion of the group that the mainstream notices and points out. Just think of the number of people who only know gay people as drag queens, tweaked out glitter fairies running around in their underwear, and leather daddies in their chaps because those are the groups that get featured the most whenever there is coverage of the local gay pride parade, but those groups are hardly representative of all gay men.
So, yes, there will be some Bronies who fetishize the characters, but I would agree they are probably not representative of the entire Bronie group, just like the Star Wars fans who only fixate on Carrie Fisher in the gold metal bikini in Return of the Jedi are not the most accurate representation of Star Wars fans.

JG - I still haven't gotten too far into Battlestar Gallactica. Just the opening mini series. I did see Katie Sackhoff at a con recently though and she is stunningly beautiful.
I geek out for Doctor Who, Batman mostly with a hint of Masters of the Universe.

One that's produced by Bronies & people behind MLP. It's not like some outside source thought it'd make a great documentary.

Well when a show exists to sell toys and the toys do not sell then the show goes bye-bye. It's the same with a show like Power Rangers. Its ratings could be great, but if the toy sales aren't there then the show will be canned.

I will not admit to such a thing!
I have to say that I am impressed with the animation style...but that's because I'm into graphics, art, design and animation. I've been drawing since I was a wee little lad...but a Bronie?!! Never!

(see: Young Justice, which was a great DC cartoon with good viewership, but too much of it was girls who 'didn't buy action figures,').
There were many opportunities for girls' toys for these "boy" shows. They could have made dolls of Miss Martian, Artemis, Batgirl, etc. Plush dolls of Robin and Kid Flash. The action figure line could have sold better too. But have they considered that the toys that were put out were crap? Parents aren't going to shell out $10 for toys that look like they should have been free with Happy Meals.

I think it starts at home, with parents who don't teach their children so much as cater to them. They learn bullying from other students and peers, and from watching their siblings and parents interact with others.
Too many people rely on the schools to be the "bully police," but by that point, it's almost too late. It needs to start much earlier and much further into a child's own core family before it ever gets to a classroom.
