strummergirl has got it right when she says Steubenville is like a mini-Penn State. That part of Ohio is about 20 minutes from where I grew up, in Pennsylvania, on the PA/OH/WV border, and it’s got the SWPA high-school-athlete mentality, which isn’t a far cry from the way things work in Texas. It’s easy (and scary) to imagine things going down just this way where I went to high school.

wow, I feel like I've lived too long to fit into today's society. The way I see it is - you committed a CRIME against someone. SHE is the victim, you have to pay the price.

"Waaa waaa, I made a mistake, we all make mistakes" is what people now say when they commit a heinous crime. Yeah, well you can call it a mistake or you can call it breaking the law, but YOU did it. YOU have to take the responsibility. Something no one does anymore.

Yup, I'm too old for today's society.

I'm glad that Poppy Skank is being lambasted on her Facebook page. I'm really surprised the powers that be on CNN haven't issued any statement. Anderson Cooper made it a point of repeatedly referencing the true victim of this heinous crime on his show last night.

Damn, can that mother's rant be ANY MORE GHETTO. I haven't read a rant like that since I left the South Bronx in 1990.

"Will Nevada" She was trying to type "Will never the" or "Will never" and instead of typing the slang shortcut "Will neva" or "Will neva da" wound up typing "Will Nevada". She can't even write slang correctly, let alone proper English. SMDH.

...oh and don't judge me because I grew up in the ghetto...just sayin'

It's always something!! Me, myself? I could care less what people do or how they feel because when it all boils down - he is still my child!

So people can say what they think and say and do what they feel at me an mine (that is) until you have to walk (and foot) in my shoes, then what you think and do and say will never matter to me!

Really, who knows what happened that night but the people who were there. No, I don't condone underage drinking and drugs with kids or RAPE.

But I do know that I raised my child to respect himself and others and to have morals and to never disrespect a female.

In my son's whole 16 years I have never seen him out of character.

And I know we have been through some sh!t.

So it all boils down to me knowing my children, So it really is not people's place to judge if you were not there!

But what you do is immaterial because I will keep loving, caring and providing for mine until I can do no more.

But it's really wrong for the public to condemn us and judge us for something they know nothing about.

I am going to stand by my son with my head up high no whatter what happens.

That is still MY F*CKING CHILD AND NOTHING YOU SAY OR DO WILL NEVER CHANGE THAT,(MY SON) MALIK RICHMOND! IT'S REALLY GOING TO BE US AGAINST THE WORLD! AND I'LL DIE BELIEVING IN MINE!!
