papa, 1.) there is no need to insult me like that. 2.) I never said anything about Bush. McCain is eager to "stay the course" in Iraq and he's already got his sights set on Iran even though he can't get his own facts straight. http://www.courant.com/news/nationworld/hc-mccain0319.artmar19,0,1769738.story

"anyone who thinks we're going to invade iran before the end of dubya's term is so out of touch that they have no need of that sense and should donate it to someone who might actually use it."
"MUSCAT, Oman (AP) — Retaining his tough stance against Iran, U.S. Vice President Dick Cheney said Wednesday that Tehran mayhave restarted the nuclear weaponization program that a U.S. intelligence report said was halted in 2003." Um that is from today. This is certainly an agenda of some kind, we on the left have done a lot to expose the truth about this situation.
"me just ignores what he doesnt want to hear. "
She will not win the delegates. Michigan and Florida are not valid and if Barack starts campaigning there only Hillary stands to lose. Similar states have proven as much.
"After winning Penn, she will have won THE 3 major swing states and most of the major states. She also wins in rural areas. Any superdelegate is going to have to consider these very important facts."
The problem with this is that Hillary will not have won the popular vote, she will not have the most delegates. I'm not sure who you are listening to but she cannot win this. The same voters that are voting for Hillary in these swing states will just go to Barack and unlike Hillary, Barack can get conservatives and undecided.
I'm not sure why you want the fight here, or are on the defensive. I'm all for a fair fight in this election, but Hillary's slams that McCain is better suited is not Democratic. That math does not JRB.
"And I'm tired of fighting about this race. Whoever gets it I will celebrate."
Celebrate now it's a boy!
" I already responded to this allegation you raised, and you dismissed it. It was a private library, and I would prefer that the Royal Family in SA had not contributed and made the gift. But, I don't think it is a fatal flaw."
Funny thing though it's not on the news, I would rather the American public decide what is and isn't fatal. The problem with this and her ties to the Carlyle group is that this money is dirty with terrorism. Why she wont put out her tax returns is beyond me if none of this is fatal.
I'll be back in a few months to tout Hillary's demise. I'm gonna go look for Huckabee. Papas right on the mark though about some of this, if Hillary doesn't get out in a month or two I don't know if a democrat can even win in the general election. Watch out y'all I hear Cheney is now saying Al Quaidas are being armed by Iran. Uh-oh...

that way the zealots can continue to ignore reality and clamor for more losing candidates. thank god for the far left. i really was worried back in january. what a difference a few months make.

Mejust - it was McCain saying that Iran was supporting Al-Qaeda in Iraq, not Cheney. And then Lieberman corrected him.
And, it is very possible for Obama to have more delegates, and Clinton to have more votes. I hope that does not happen, but it is possible.

Some more numbers. This is the averaging out of all polls as listed on Touchmeinthemorning's recommended site, RealClearPolitics. It shows McCain beating both Obama and Clinton by about a point.
RCP Average:
Obama 44.6 McCain 46.0

Clinton 46.0 McCain 47.0

clearly those numbers mean nothing, art. once the nation has had time to digest the greatest speech ever given by anyone ever in history, they will clearly rally to bammy like gangbusters and he'll be leading by 130% or 175% easy. at that point, i mean, why even vote? just like name him god and be done with it.

Do I like that Bill Clinton received funding for the Saudis for his Presidential Library? No. But it is not analogous to a 20 year affiliate to with a specific pastor who has been described as like family.
Apples and oranges.
Ok. What about Hillary's family and her 33-year marriage to a man who lied to the American people, was subsequently impeached, and accepted money from the Saudi royal family? You can't hold one candidate accountable for the negative actions of their family but not the other.

I don't think it is analogous.
I think Hillary has received a lot of criticism for not leaving Bill after the whole Lewinsky affair exploded - but then again, it is their marriage, not mine. I have no idea what their understanding is.
Clinton lying about sex is just that to me - a man lying about sex. Men and women do it all the time. He just happened to be President and got caught.
Do I like that he accepted the gift from the Saudi Royal Family - no. Bill Clinton was a virtual rock star in the international community, and it does not surprise me that he got funding from a variety of sources, some good, and some not so good, for his Presidential Library.
As for Obama, I really personally do not have a problem with his preacher - the sermons, while personally offensive to me, do not seem to far from what I have heard elsewhere. The problem I have is that Obama sat there for 23 years and had no problem with it, yet now claims that the words were offensive. Only when it became a political issue did he try to step back and distance himself from the pastor. I find this suspect.
To me it is not analogous.
If it is to you, more power to you.

i don't understand what the problem is if what is said is TRUTH... there is a huge difference between dialogue on Clinton's "bitchiness" and dialogue weighing statements of fact... how are these discussions of fact somehow irrelevant and overly malicious when we are choosing the possible next president of the united states?

YWIW, I agree that this would be something to question. And I keep hearing this. But is this just an assumption? I don't remember him addressing this specifically in his speech. But prior to this speech Obama has said that he has had no problem in telling the pastor when he did not agree with what he was saying. So I'm not sure that we really know that he sat there silently all those years.

But, my recollection was that he never discussed this in conversations with the Pastor.
I thought I saw this in an interview when he was doing some damage control over the weekend. I could be mistaken.

You may be right, YWIW. I was in P-Town for the weekend and didn't catch any of his interviews. I've never seen a TV in P-Town
The closest I've heard to that notion is that he hadn't discussed those particular controversial youtube sermons with him because he wasn't there for them. I'll have to see what I can find because you are right; that would be something to weigh in your decision making.

Arts,
On a similar vein, Obama claims to have only discovered the tone and tenor of Wright's speeches as he was about to launch his Presidential bid. I find this a bit hard to swallow. From Obama:
"The statements that Rev. Wright made that are the cause of this controversy were not statements I personally heard him preach while I sat in the pews of Trinity or heard him utter in private conversation. When these statements first came to my attention, it was at the beginning of my presidential campaign. I made it clear at the time that I strongly condemned his comments. But because Rev. Wright was on the verge of retirement, and because of my strong links to the Trinity faith community, where I married my wife and where my daughters were baptized, I did not think it appropriate to leave the church."
Who did he make clear to that he condemns the comments? How, when these speeches are available for sale by the Church, was he surprised by the tone and tenor? This just does not ring true to me.

FWIW, when he talks about only discovering the tone and tenor later, I think he means that he was aware that the pastor was controversial while he was attending, but only in the way that many pastors of black churches are. It was only after he'd left, as Wright was getting ready to retire that he started talking about the AIDs stuff.
I'm not at all surprised by the things Wright said and agree with many of them (with the exception of the AIDS conspiracy bit) Are people really surprised that parts of black America feel like this? I think that many white people are afraid to face this and they let themselves be distracted by the "outrageousness" of the "GD America" stuff to the point that they push the less outrageous, but still scarier racial stuff to the back of the issue so they don't have to deal with the racial anger that is real and exists.
I think that's much more important than what Obama did or didn't know when or who he said what to about it. He sat there because it's real and it exists. My mother is racist. So are my Aunt Dot and the house manager at the theatre I work at. Do I call them on it? Usually. Do I write them off or walk out of their lives? No. I stay there because if I don't, nothing ever changes. That's how I'm looking at this situation with Obama.
It was the press he made it clear to a year ago. I remember the videos surfacing and Obama talking about them. But they never really became a big deal until now.
