I'd like to see a point in time when Obama and Clinton start discussing actual issues (taxes, unemployment, gas prices, global warming, defense spending, and health care et al) and stop making speeches in which they have to protect themselves against something one of their supporters said.

has he started yet? and why does the damn drudge link being me a blank screen? if i were a racist i'd suggest that the fact that he scheduled it for 10:15 and still hadn't started at 10:45 as a hilarious pander to the aa community and proof positive to the rest of the world that there really is a thing called cpt.

"And I confess that if all that I knew of Reverend Wright were the snippets of those sermons that have run in an endless loop on the television and You Tube, or if Trinity United Church of Christ conformed to the caricatures being peddled by some commentators, there is no doubt that I would react in much the same way"
you know the above scares me.....as I believe you are what you say. I am sure there are people who would have nice things to say about Fred Phelps, Hitler, Idi Amin....but that still does negate the fact that they are monsters.
trying to defend a monster never works (except for Mel brooks) and I think Obama made a terrible mistake by trying to defend Wright, rather than disassociating himself from him

elphy... the problem is alot of african americans feel the way Wright feels. he's not going about it the right way, but there is serious genuine anger from much of the african american community based on the way blacks have been treated in the USA. It wasnt all that long ago... remember...
not sure comparing him to fred phelps (or hitler!) is the right way to go about it... anyhow... i'm sure many will disagree with me.
but it goes back to what frogs said... it doesnt matter what ferraro or wright or anyone has said... these people are not the candidates. they are just people speaking their opinions in support of their own candidate... just consider the **** we say on here in support of our candidates...
at this point the democrats are more focused on tearing each other down than building up the party... both senators clinton and obama would make excellent presidents. correction, one of them WILL make an excellent president.
as a matter of fact, just this morning on the train to work i was thinking about how much i've disliked senator clinton through-out this complain... all the bull**** the candidates have been slinging at each other... and for the first time i was able to set that aside and get really excited about the prospect of her being the next president. obviously i'm still rooting for obama to get the nomination (and i think he will), but if it goes to hillary i will be excited and just as proud to be a democrat! this is such a great time to be a democrat...
i've resigned on the idea that either of them will run with the other, but whoever it goes to, i am excited to support...

I really like that post, cuban. And it is terribly sad that we get these two amazing, history-making candidates and it becomes a huge, knock out battle.
But I think that's just it. They are both so excellent. It's not "the lesser of two evils". It's two great people.
And the problem right now is that both have great cause to fight for the nomination--both have had huge successes in this race. Both can make a strong argument for why they should be the nominee.

I would like to hear the reverand's entire sermon. One thing that, for me, rings true in the clips they keep showing is that America's chickens have come home to roost. And they have, in my opinion. And it seems nobody wants to admit it. Not to say that I may agree with everything he says, but that one line has stuck in my head since it aired. Just some random thoughts while I should be working!
