Huggles from me, too! I hear ya on that, BD. I dragged my Aunt to a wake of another Aunt because I didn't want to go in alone. That and it was the first time walking in that funeral home after my father's wake.

In the paragraph below, should the 'of's' be 'have's'? Am I wrong?

"Superstar entertainer Michael Jackson was set to be buried on what would of been his birthday, August 29. On that date, Jackson, who passed away June 25, would of been 51 years old. Publicists for the Jackson family said today that the singer's burial had been rescheduled for Sept. 3."

It should HAVE been 'have'. Many people make that mistake because they hear 'should've' as 'should of', so they write it incorrectly.

I had to go to a wake at the same funeral home and room we had the services for my step dad in a month or so ago. Was not fun. As usual, I was pretty numb and focused otherwise during his services so the shock was not as great for me when we went again, but my mom was not handling it well being there agian.

I do not think in all the strength people think I possess I could go back to the place we had Chris's. Bad enough I have to pass by it mostly every day, that is just one place I think I am going to avoid as much as I can.
