Last night went well. My friend was holding up well...she actually told me that she was hungry and hadn't felt that way in 5 days...so that was a good sign. Of course the funeral home was packed. It felt like my old hood were all there. Nice to see that old friends are always there when they need to be.

It is a terrible shock. I couldn't figure out why there were a bunch of young adults there walking around with Yankee jersey...my friend explained that they were all coming in from California to go to a Yankee game and so they decided to wear the jerseys to the wake in his honor.

Boobs, I was just reading back and wanted to send my love and support to you - and to your friend. I can't imagine the pain... I'm glad you are there for her, as you are always such a source of strength, compassion and love. Know that you and your friend are in my prayers.

I just got home. We closed early today and I ran out of that place so quickly! It has been one long, grueling summer. I hit the send button on the culmination of all the work this morning and now plan to sleep for a good, long time!

Am looking forward to the weekend. Drinks with friends tonight. CT tomorrow. Going to the US Open on Sunday. Catching up with a friend on Monday. Sleep and good food will be mixed in.
