Morning peeps! Contractors woke me up at 7:30!!! Don't this people know I need to sleep a little? After the electrifying WICKED performance last night I was so wound up that I came home and watched some DVR'd shows. Got to bed around 2 a.m. HC is still sleeping. We'll see how long that lasts with all this banging and screwing going on around here. It's nice to come home to a warm house last night.
So last night's performances ripped the roof off of the Gershwin theater. The crowd was so pumped that they applauded and laughed at every little thing. The applauds and shout outs after each song lasted a good 3 minutes. Of course Defying Gravity even got a standing ovation. The electricity in the audience played on the performers. Galinda's (the "ga" is silent)"Popular" was one of the funniest I ever seen. The more the crowd roared with laughter the funnier she got. Brilliant performances! Of course after bows they announced there were some original cast members and producers in the audience. The only one my kids and I recognized was the guy who took over for Joel Grey, Sean McCourt. They remembered him because he played the father in Bat Boy.
There was almost a mutiny in the mezzanine. Of course we were on time and waiting for them to open the doors, so we were good. Anyone who showed up 10 minutes later did not get the 10th Anniversary Playbill. It seemed they ran out and were giving people the original ones. This sent people ranting down the aisles. I watched men who were probably dragged there by their significant others gladly surrender their green Playbills to these very upset fans. See there is good in Oz. It truly was a memorable night at the Gershwin. Although I did expect some surprises that never happened. HELLO Kristin & Idina. Would a guest appearance kill ya's? Oh yea and what is this crap? You can pre-order a WICKED 10th Anniversary cast recording on "vinyl" for a mere $110. Seriously??? I'm a fan of the show, but that's ridiculous! I guess anyway they can make a buck they will.

I was thinking about you all night. (As I was drinking too much delicious red wine at a dinner at Italian Wine Merchants)
I'm really surprised that K & I weren't there and that there wasn't a bigger showing from the original cast...
Sounds like a wonderful night!!
The costumes are out in force today. Fun! Most of our network reps dress up and come over to deliver candy. Yay. I am in the mood for chocolate ALL DAY!
I pray no kids knock on my door. HC ate all the chocolate. I can give them healthy oatmeal squares.
Addy, I had a Wickedtini before the show. I bought the 3rd. his first drink at a bar. I can't believe he turned 21 in August and this was his first drink at a bar. I spent my 18th birthday (yes it was legal age back then) at a bar.

Our dinner was a wine tasting, and both the food and wines were fabulous.
I would love to have tomorrow off. A rainy day at home...

I'm wearing the I'd-rather-be-home-because-I'm-tired-today corporate type costume.
I'm actually wearing jeans to the office today. Not on a Friday. I rarely wear jeans, and even more rarely in the office. The team looked at me in complete surprise when they came to my office for a quick meeting!
(Ad agencies - where people live in jeans and various levels of completely casual clothing).

I'm wearing my PJs still. The contractors are done! We have heat!!! They even fixed my outside lights for me that went out 5 years ago. They will hopefully be back next week to install a doorbell and give me backyard lights. The other things on my bucket list will have to wait. Everything cost $$$ A little at a time and it will all get done.
