It's not even been 24 hours yet and I'm so sick of hearing about him, with lots more to come, I'm sure. Sorry, couldn't stand the man back when he was mayor of Woodbridge and I lived in Fords, slimy, slimy. I'm trying so hard to keep my mouth shut thru all this, but I just had to vent. Back to good memories.
Sometimes I used to read the labels and inserts and such, but now it's a given. I read everything that comes with my CD's from front to back, sideways, inside out.
YAY MOM!!!! Gold Star for you today.

Goody, goody, goody!! I use to love getting those gold stars on my work papers.
Going to concerts when I wasin highschool was always fun, my brother who is 6'2" by 5'8" ( a very large guy) worked in security so I always got backstage passes. Very neat indeed!
Ok Mom..now I'm jealous.
bdwaygirl...my best friend from college lives in Colonia and she always called him "McGreedy".
Gold stars were ok, but you know you were good when you got a scratch 'n' sniff sticker on your paper. Especially the popcorn one. That was the most valuable.
Scratch and sniff were somewhat later on, but I do remember them... I always liked strawberry.
Nuns wouldn't let you scratch and sniff anything !!! Damn Penguins !!!
MOM!!! I'm jealous, too. Just once in my life, I'd love to have backstage passes at a concert for someone I really, really like. You know how you get tickets to concerts for people you enjoy, but then there are maybe one or two people/groups, who you would do most anything for? That's what I'm talking about. Those are also the ones I can NEVER get front row seats for. Just once is all I'm askin'.
No scratch and sniff stickers here, either. I am definitely feeling deprived today!

Just for that I'll bump Billy Bob to the top.
Billy Bob prefers to be the bumper, not the bumpee.
Billy Bob will get what Billy Bob can and like it !!! This is your Captain speaking.
Billy Bob is amused. Billy Bob, by the way, does not have a vial of blood around his neck.
I'll buy him a vial then...and lets get back to the thread.
hmm, someone mentioned Journey back there. Who doesn't love them some "Open Arms" or "Don't Stop Believin'" or "Separate Ways" or "Who's Crying Now" I say?
I do a mean Steve Perry at karaoke too.
Love Steve Perry and I'd love to hear you sing some of his songs.
Do they let you sing them at Piano Bars?
Some do...Most of the time if you ask the piano player he will do it...gives him a break from singing.
They wouldn't at Marie's the other night...
You guys had me worried. Thought you threw this thread over for the kissing board members one, which I have yet to catch up on reading.
I'll have me some Steve Perry also, please.

ahh, the divine Mr. P.
Best voice of the 80s.
Also, give me Heart any time. "MAgic Man", "Alone", "Barracuda", even "These Dreams."
Here you go bdwaygirl:
Oh Sherry by:
Journey
You should've been gone
Knowing how I made you feel
And I should've been gone
After all your words of steel
Oh I must've been a dreamer
And I must've been someone else
And we should've been over
Oh Sherry, our love
Holds on, holds on
Oh Sherry, our love
Holds on, holds on
But I want to let go
You'll go on hurtin' me
You'd be better off alone
If I'm not who you thought I'd be
But you know that there's a fever
Oh that you'll never find nowhere else
Can't you feel it burnin' on and on
(chorus)
But I should've been gone
Long ago, far away
And you should've been gone
Now I know just why you stay
(chorus)
Oh Sherry, our love
Holds on, holds on

Here's a color-inspired song in honor of Bboob's Fuschia Terror Alert Joke...
Crimson And Clover
(T. James/P. Lucia)
Ah, now I don't hardly know her
But I think I could love her
Crimson and clover
Ah when she comes walking over
Now I've been waitin' to show her
Crimson and clover over and over
Yeah, my, my such a sweet thing
I wanna do everything
What a beautiful feeling
Crimson and clover over and over
Crimson and clover over and over
Crimson and clover over and over
Crimson and clover over and over
Crimson and clover over and over

And, now, a little "Journey"
(Trivia: some of the members of the band lived in Novato in northern California when I served there as a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. One set of missionaries in my area met the drummer while they were going door to door.)
Just a small town girl, livin’ in a lonely world
She took the midnight train goin’ anywhere
Just a city boy, born and raised in south detroit
He took the midnight train goin’ anywhere
A singer in a smokey room
A smell of wine and cheap perfume
For a smile they can share the night
It goes on and on and on and on
Strangers waiting, up and down the boulevard
Their shadows searching in the night
Streetlight people, living just to find emotion
Hiding, somewhere in the night
Working hard to get my fill,
Everybody wants a thrill
Payin’ anything to roll the dice,
Just one more time
Some will win, some will lose
Some were born to sing the blues
Oh, the movie never ends
It goes on and on and on and on
(chorus)
Don’t stop believin’
Hold on to the feelin’
Streetlight people

bwaysinger - I would respectfully submit that Freddie Mercury merits at least some consideration as one of the best singers of the 80's.
I am soooo with you DG!! Freddie Mercury was one of the best ever!
Oh most certainly DG...A Night At The Opera stayed on my turntable a whole summer.
Beacon1...loved the song Crimson and Clover...I would play it...over and over. Still have that 45 too....LOL.
