Oh most certainly DG...A Night At The Opera stayed on my turntable a whole summer.
Beacon1...loved the song Crimson and Clover...I would play it...over and over. Still have that 45 too....LOL.
I will concede Mercury's place as one of the best. And I do love his music.
I still go with Stevie.
I had a fully staged production at every party Night at The Opera was played....

And this whole 'voice of the 80s' thing becomes a moot point if it includes women - Annie Lennox is THE Diva.
Don't even get me started on Annie Lennox...I saw her in concert at the Garden and then at The Apollo ...now that was amazing...Annie Lennox at the Apollo.

Boobs - I saw her at Red Rocks in Colorado. There was a huge rainstorm going on, but she insisted on performing because she was determined to hear her voice in that venue. Everyone stayed for the whole show - it was glorious (and wet - which isn't necessarily always a bad thing)
Awww. I can hear Steve singing in my head. Thanks.

For DGrant and Bboobs
Sweet dreams are made of this
Who am I to disagree?
Travel the world and the seven seas
Everybody's looking for something
Some of them want to use you
Some of them want to get used by you
Some of them want to abuse you
Some of them want to be abused
Sweet dreams are made of this
Who am I to disagree?
Travel the world and the seven seas
Everybody's looking for something
Some of them want to use you
Some of them want to get used by you
Some of them want to abuse you
Some of them want to be abused
I wanna use you and abuse you
I wanna know what's inside you
(Whispering) Hold your head up, movin' on
Keep your head up, movin' on
Hold your head up, movin' on
Keep your head up, movin' on
Hold your head up, movin' on
Keep your head up, movin' on
Movin' on!
Sweet dreams are made of this
Who am I to disagree?
Travel the world and the seven seas
Everybody's looking for something
Some of them want to use you
Some of them want to get used by you
Some of them want to abuse you
Some of them want to be abused
I'm gonna use you and abuse you
I'm gonna know what's inside
Gonna use you and abuse you
I'm gonna know what's inside you

Glad you liked it Mom! :o)
It's rainy and dreary here so I'm gonna cheer myself up by posting the following song (tho' I'd be happy if it just rained Patrick Wilson, LOL!)
It's Raining Men
Humidity is rising
Barometer's getting low
According to our sources
The street's the place to go
Cause' tonight for the first time
Just about half past ten
For the first time in history
It's gonna start raining men
It's raining men
Hallejulah
It's raining men
Amen
It's raining men
Hallejulah
It's raining men
Amen
Humidity is rising
Barometer's getting low
According to our sources
The street's the place to go
Cause' tonight for the first time
Just about half past ten
For the first time in history
It's gonna start rainin men
It's raining men
Hallejulah
It's raining men
Amen
I'm gonna go out
I'm gonna let myself get
Absolutley soaking wet
It's rainin men
Hallejulah
It's raining men
Every special men
Tall blonde dark and lean
Rough and tough and strong and mean
God bless Mother Nature
She's a single woman too
She took over heaven
And she did what she had to do
She fought every Angel
To rearranged the sky
So that each and every woman
Could find the perfect guy
It's raining men
Don't get yourself Weather Girls
I know you want to
I feel stormy wheather moving in
About to begin
Hear the thunder
Don't you loose your head
Rip off the roof and stay in bed
(Rip off the roof and stay)
It's raining men
Hallejulah
It's raining men
Amen
It's raining men
Hallejulah
It's raining men
Amen
It's raining men
Hallejulah
It's raining men
Amen
It's raining men
Hallejulah
It's raining men
Amen
It's raining men
It's raining men
It's raining men

It's Friday the 13th...
Hmmm makes me think of something a bit spooky...
Go to this link and you can sing along...
http://www.geocities.com/Heartland/Valley/3111/mash/
I was working in the lab late one night
When my eyes beheld an eerie sight
For my monster from his slab began to rise
And suddenly to my surprise
He did the mash
He did the monster mash
The monster mash
It was a graveyard smash
He did the mash
It caught on in a flash
He did the mash
He did the monster mash
From my laboratory in the castle east
To the master bedroom where the vampires feast
The ghouls all came from their humble abodes
To get a jolt from my electrodes
They did the mash
They did the monster mash
The monster mash
It was a graveyard smash
They did the mash
It caught on in a flash
They did the mash
They did the monster mash
The zombies were having fun
The party had just begun
The guests included Wolf Man
Dracula and his son
The scene was rockin', all were digging the sounds
Igor on chains, backed by his baying hounds
The coffin-bangers were about to arrive
With their vocal group, "The Crypt-Kicker Five"
They played the mash
They played the monster mash
The monster mash
It was a graveyard smash
They played the mash
It caught on in a flash
They played the mash
They played the monster mash
Out from his coffin, Drac's voice did ring
Seems he was troubled by just one thing
He opened the lid and shook his fist
And said, "Whatever happened to my Transylvania twist?"
It's now the mash
It's now the monster mash
The monster mash
And it's a graveyard smash
It's now the mash
It's caught on in a flash
It's now the mash
It's now the monster mash
Now everything's cool, Drac's a part of the band
And my monster mash is the hit of the land
For you, the living, this mash was meant too
When you get to my door, tell them Boris sent you
Then you can mash
Then you can monster mash
The monster mash
And do my graveyard smash
Then you can mash
You'll catch on in a flash
Then you can mash
Then you can monster mash

I know...and I almost went out, too!
I finished watching the 4th of 6 episodes of the BBC PENNIES FORM HEAVEN ABOUT 10:30. Do I take a subway ride, I asked myself. My response was, not now.
Yet I really needed to sing out show tunes!
I'll keep practicing.

I'm so laughing at your ICON Eyemakeup3 because if you were reading the posts on this thread you would have read that Jose' HATED that mouse...LOL !!! How ironc you posted right after him !!! LOL !!!
Okay gang...I saw the matinee today of Dracula..now before I start I just want you to all know that I've been a Vampire fan since I was little babe. I truly enjoyed it. I'm not saying I want to rush to see it again. There were only a couple of songs I really enjoyed, but nothing really memorable. The voices on that stage are incredible. I wish they had better songs to use their talent on. I loved the staging..all the flying and disappearing. They even had the nudity in this performance which I wasn't expecting because it was a matinee. Some of the characters still need to be better developed. All in all, it was not the worst show I've ever seen, but not one that will tell my friends to rush out to see. If you do have the chance to see it though at a discount I think you'd have a good time. At least you'd see a tremendous cast. Hurry though because I don't see this lasting on Broadway for long, but then again I'm not a critic.

Boobs - having seen Frank Langela in the late 70's revival of the play, I think I'll leave my DRACULA memories intact. BUT, I'm glad you had a good time, cause that's what it's all about!
Boobs, dear, I keep telling everyone the Playbill article said the nudity was coming out around August 25, but nobody must read my posts!! I saw it today, too (where were you??) and I don't see what the big flippin' deal is. It's there for, what - 15, maybe 20 seconds tops? Maybe a little longer for Melissa, but not much. There's worse stuff on primetime t.v. for crying out loud.
Just to let my fellow Steve Perry lovers know, I broke out the Journey box set I haven't listened to in ages and Stevie is serenading me as I type!
