Can the adults please smoke?

Undiscovered - that actually sounds fascinating - but it might be better to start off a little slower, and get an idea of how we all relate to things and each other - in the discussion format. Personally, I think we've all started to get a pretty good idea of where we all come from on many things - and I like that the adults will continue smoking, in this or another thread.

I love you all, but if I don't tear myself away from this computer right now John is going to leave me and I'm going to get fired...

I'll be back online as soon as I get home.

I hate to miss the party....but I promise I'll be back!!!

I'm going to be heading out, too. Just found out I'm going to a friend's tomorrow and have to go pick up a little something to bring with me. Hope to talk with you all soon. I'm glad I was here for the celebration! Have fun!

Boobs, are you trying to imply I'm a control freak? the adults will continue smoking, in this or another thread.

ANYWAY, the nomination on the floor is for I, Lucifer, and that seems to be OK with the majority. So, I say let's go with that.

The next thing is discussion date. Typical for book clubs is once a month - does that sound OK? I really wouldn't want to go lower than three weeks, in any case.

SO, since Boobs has a head start, how long do you think a reasonable person would take to read the book? And let's try to avoid any side comments on the reasonableness of this little group the adults will continue smoking, in this or another thread.

Hi everyone. A book club sounds like a fun idea. Can I invite myself to join even though I am not a daily contributor to this thread? After next week, I'll actually have some time to read again.

Mom, congratulations.
And, I'm so glad I decided to log on the night this thread hit page 200.

I agree, sounds like a good 'beginner' book - it will let us ease into things. How about a start posting date of September 20th, so we can make sure everyone who wants to can participate. If we figure out we need to pick up the pace, we can adjust as we go along.

Hey everyone! I've been gone for over two weeks and no one has noticed. My computer was browser hyjacked and it took over two weeks to get it fixed due to some sidetrack problems. I thought I would go nuts with not computer. I tried to get on line a little while at my daughters but her computer is too slow. I couldn't believe it when I finally signed on tonight and there was Can the adults please smoke still right up at the top of the message board. It was back on August 8th that I last posted. So much has happened. A lot to celebrate - 200 pages, mominator becoming a nana (My first daughter's name is Elizabeth), a book club. I love reading. I tried to read Wicked on my beach vacation. Usually I read 6 or 7 books but this year I couldn't even get through one. Oh well, I would love to be a participant in a book club discussion. I'm not even going to try to read the 80 or so pages I have missed so fill me in on anything exciting. I'm even out of the loop on any broadway news. Today was the first day of my job back at high school and we have a big brand new school. The biggest on in the state of Michigan, at least for a while. I'm tried though, too much walking. I'm glad to be back at the computer!
