bway - It's a common thought that there are no more original ideas, just different interpretations and presentations. People today - expecially those who choose to remain ignorant - would be shocked at all the available knowledge and awareness that has preceded them.
Vampiric lore is always interesting, as it usually deals head-on with the concept of mortality - and by extension, the greatest human fear - and desire.

Morning all! Coffee is on and the bagels are fresh. Help yourselves and enjoy!

Good Morning my friends. I need an extra strong cup this morning.
Mom still waiting I'm sure. It's the waiting that kills. UGH !!!
Well, when Elizabeth Marie is ready for our world, she'll join us.
Morning DG. By the way, I'm reading I,Lucifer slowly so that I'm not so far ahead of everyone. Besides, I'm working on another project that consumes most of my nights right now.

isn't quite ready for her close up yet!

Boobs - reading about impending birth and your new nighttime project at the same time makes me think you're attempting a modern medical miracle - ever see Rabbit Test (Billy Crystal, directed by Joan Rivers - and awful)?

Rabbit Test WAS horrible. No DG, I'm not working on having a baby, but if i did, think of how rich we'd be...I like sharing my wealth with my friends. I could have a house on the right coast and the left coast. Wouldn't that be lover-ly.

I love people who share - it's such a nice thing to do
How is it getting into work with all this hoop-de-la going on?

I think that most people because of the convention aren't driving into the City, so it's actually been okay. It's just trying at night to get to the Port Authority to catch my bus that sucks because they're all out and walking as if they don't have to be anywhere soon...which is probably the case for them. Just move people, other people have places to go and people to see...it's all about them, them, them !!! Sorry, time for my lithium.

Ahhh, mood enhancers. I was just lamenting on the political thread about not having something in place for myself
So I have ordered I, Lucifer, and many people seem to be aware of our little goings on. Nina, I think, is the only main one we should check with to see if she wants to play. I'll make little comments here and there through these couple of weeks to see how it's all going.

You're the best DG. We need someone around here who takes the bull by the horns. I'm excited about this because it makes you look forward to a discussion after reading a book.

Boobs - totally going on a tangent from your post: I've always been 'intrigued' by the cowboy persona - and other aspects of their being
The other day I saw an ad for a rodeo which showed a 'steer wrestler' doing his thing, and it really looked just horribly wrong to me! I know there are MANY people who have been campaigning against this for years (like anti-circus folk) but this was the first time that I saw it as something really bad. Now mind you, it's not like I've been hanging out at rodeos, so I guess you are aware of what you expose yourself to - as much as I love animals, it's a little surprising to me that this hasn't been an issue to me in the past.
Ok, tangent over

I know I said I wasn't going to be online today, but a girl has to have her coffee, right?
Glad to hear we have additional members of the Book Club.
I ordered my copy of I,Lucifer last night, so will try to be up to speed by the date of our first meeting.
Quick cup of coffee and then I have to scoot...
Happy last day of August.
Make it count, friends!

This Day in History:
1897: Thomas A. Edison receives a patent for the Kinetoscope, a camera that produces moving pictures.
just a tid-bit I thought you might find interesting. Although the recent topic has been books...what would our world be like without movies?

Oh, Dollypop and I differ greatly on this, because I LOVE the movies! We ended up watching Jeffrey last night instead of Moonstruck - which was ok, because that makes me laugh - a LOT!

Good morning, DGrant. You're up early! Thanks for your good thoughts. They're appreciated!
boobs - I like the idea of your becoming rich and famous. Please don't forget those of us who knew you when...
a few things I meant to comment on earlier.
Try to remember....ah, The Fantastiks. A gem.
Also, DG - I loved what you wrote about communicating via the written word alone and not having visual clues to help with the message. I, too, have been fascinated by the judgements I make about people based on not just what they write but how they write it. This new venture will be an interesting one, indeed!
...I think that's it. I'm still procrastinating. You people are going to be the ruin of me! LOL!

My sleeping schedule amounts to 'sleep when I'm tired, be awake when I'm not.' And yes, I know I'm very lucky to have that option

I envy you!
I've always been an early riser...I adore the early, early morning. Especially on the weekends when I don't have to run off somewhere. I'm also a night owl.. Not the best combination, I suppose. I guess I just like to be awake! Make the most of my day!!

Morning all! I'm on cup #3. Five a.m. came all to soon this morning. At least I've got two really productive hours of work done in the office this morning. Now I can play a little bit.
