Boobs, for the first time I have to disagree and perhaps I might be the dissenting adult - Wicked was a great piece of literature and would be a welcome addition to any book club (with no references to the show) -- it ranks as one of my top ten reads...granted – the kids won’t get past the first chapter, but I respectfully disagree...
KMF...I also read "Wicked" before the musical. The point is they will relate everything to the musical. They will never stay on topic of the book. Idina and Kristin will be brought up 1001 times.
Why am I not surprised by that? I'll have to find this thread and read it. I would love to see the kids try to discuss Wicked, the novel. It bears littel resemblance to their images from the musical. Cheno isn't even mentioned once in the book.
"Nina...new ICON...I love it"
I don't think it translates well in the BWW thumbnail. I'll have to dig up another or scan an 8X10 of this same one.
I love Chita's foot coming out of her high heel.
I just LOVE Chita. I used to wish that Chita was my Aunt...my Mom's sister. She just seems that she would be such a fun Aunt. Years ago I took 2 friends to see "A Chorus Line" matinee. Well after the show we went to this restaraunt in the theatre district called Backstage. Well, this woman comes in and is saying hi to everyone, but at the same time keeps staring at me. So I turn to one of my friends and I say "this woman keeps staring at me like she knows me and she does look familiar, but I just can't place her". My friend looks at me and says stupid that's Chita Rivera. I wanted to die !!! She was in "Bring Back Birdie" right next door to the restaraunt. I've been lucky enough since then to see her in, "The Rink","Chicago" in Vegas, and most recently in "Nine". A friend of mine knows her and he promises to introduce me someday.
She must have been mezmorized by your swarthy good looks.
Oh SOMMS..have I told you lately that I Love You ???
Not enough lately! And, you know that the feeling is mutual. Or as someone wrote in my yearbook, "Forever, until tomorrow."
I would have to agree with Somms. It was your looks. Chita likes her men and is an insatiable flirt.
Nina..thank you for the compliment too...you know I love you my Siren.
Yes, Chita is one classy lady and she looks tremendous even today. She can flirt with me any day of the week. She blew me away in Nine, the talent that the woman possesses is unbelievable.

Once again I suffered by being on the opposite coast and didn't get to see Nine. But I did get to see a clip of her number with Antonio - and I feel quite certain that I would have stood for her at the end of it. If she could still kick her leg up onto his shoulder at this stage of the game - and look spectacular doing it, I might add - then the least I would do is stand up to cheer.
DG..even what Chita did with her voice for the song "Folies Bergeres" was amazing. I saw the original production too and this production just blew me away. Chita made me fall in love with this song. Her leg extension is phenomenal. God bless Chita.
Back from banking and shopping. Got a blouse off lay away and
put a pair of slacks on... sigh... Ordered I, Lucifer will be

Hello mominator Wish I could make the waiting easier for you -= but it never really is
We're all just stuck here in our little board world still - but at least I'm having fun!
Getting ready for the closing bell. I'll see you guys when I get home around 6:30 or so. Have fun without me for now.
Hurry up Lizzie...we can't wait to celebrate your arrival.
Thanks all! The waiting is the hardest part. I am so looking forward to my first snuggle!

Just wanted to knock this up to the top so it was available for any of the 'gang' when ready. We seem to be set on reading 'I, Lucifer' and starting our discussion on Monday, September 20th. Many people have ordered the book, so we're off!
Mominator checked in earlier today - after burning off a little energy shopping - and last we heard, there wasn't anything to hear yet!
Where is everyone this evening? I've been reading to catch up on what I've missed today - no Elizabeth yet, the book club is growing which is great, Chita Rivera I agree is wonderful. I also saw NINE and loved it! I had a good second day back at work but miss my time on the computer. Sometimes I have time to use the ones at school but not every day. Tell me has it been a good time in NYC to see shows that are hard because the general public is staying away or are the Republicans filling the theaters.
Hey DG...I'm finally doing something tonight I should have done days ago...paying bills. I've just been enjoying reading some posts, but being silent. Nothing seems to be wanting me to chime in tonight.
I took the day off of work tomorrow because a doctor is coming to see Grandma, so I want to be here to ask questions. I need to have her evaluated and see what options I have. Very stessful.
Hope you're having a wonderful evening.

Undiscovered - aren't mood alterers a kick?
Boobs - my thoughts are with you. Just remember that you can trust yourself to have her best interests in your heart. The mind can play scary little tricks on us, but the heart never lies. Also, having been there/done that - ALWAYS remember that EVERYONE involved has needs, wants and desires that have to be met, and it is right and fitting to take all those considerations into consideration. Since you have so much that could bog you down mentally, and sometimes having something to do can keep your mind from eating itself, how would you like to hop on over and pay our bills as well? Just trying to be helpful
Thanks Undi.
bwayaddict...all I know is that I thought this was gonna be the week from hell commuting into the City, but it has actually been better than usual. I don't know about the theatres, but the traffic getting in and out of the City has been nil.

Boobs - I actually wondered if that would be the case (with traffic) since so many people seem to have fled. Glad it's been OK for you!
DG thanks for your support.
The only scarry think coming home tonight was that all the cops around the Port Authority were carrying these really long, wooden sticks. They were about as thick as a baseball bat. I wouldn't want to be hit with one of them.
My daughter lives in Boston and the same thing happened there. No one except the conventioners were in the city. Also, the business's did not make very much money because their time was so structured they did not have much free time to go spend any money. The city actually lost money. My daughter works at Mc
Cormicks and Scmicks and they were busy because they had Democratic parties booked there but other businesses were not so lucky!
