Hello Un! and the rest of the early risers. have a wonderful Saturday!
Good morning all! Been busy the last couple days - daughter home from Boston for the weekend, grandson in marching band for the first year( I have to say he's so cute)-now I'm off to work at my part-time job for 4 hours, then to a wedding that one of my daughters is singing at and then probably home to the boards for awhile. Everyone have a good day and I will be back later.
Holy Mackerel!
Have a great day bwayaddict. Sounds like a busy day...have fun.

Undiscovered - is your icon Patrick Rafter?
Broadway Legend Joined: 12/31/69
Undi - He is absolutely one of my favorites He reminded me of Stephan Edberg - a beautiful man who also happened to be a TRUE gentleman and a fabulous tennis player.

Undi - we have pretty much the same time-frame references with the game. I was VERY happy to see the rise of good sportsmanship with the group you mentioned. It always upset me to hear Pete dismissed for being 'boring,' as if being polite and respectful were the most horrible things in the world.
One of the great memories of Rafter will forever be the 'sorry mate' after a bad toss

Happy Saturday all.
I'm stuck home again with stomach stuff. I had my gall bladder out almost exactly a year ago and I thought things would be back to normal. HAH! I spent a week in the hospital with pancreatitis and gallstones before the surgery and then the surgery. Life was supposed to be better...I've spent the year reading fat grams on things, avoiding stuff I love to eat and going thru bouts of eating fatfree tapioca pudding, rice with chicken broth or ff gravy, mashed potatoes and LF or FF stuff.
AAAAAAAARGH...
Sorry...but I had to vent to folks who would understand that past 40 its like the warranty runs out on your body.
I must be a stock holder in Mylanta.

I got E! on in the background with SNL re-runs and they just used this song--which I just loved!
The Night The Lights Went Out In Georgia
Vicki Lawrence
He was on his way home from Candletop
Been two weeks gone and the thought he's stop
At Web's and have him a drink 'fore he went
home to her
Andy Wo-Lo said "Hello"
He said "Hi what's a doing"
Wo said "Sit down I got some bad news
it's gonna hurt"
Said "I'm your best friend and you know
that's right
But your young bride ain't home tonight
Since you been gone she's been seeing that
Amos boy Seth"
He got mad and he saw red
Andy said "Boy don't you lose your head
Cause to tell you the truth I've been with
her myself"
That's the night that the lights went out
in Georgia
That's the night that they hung
and innocent man
Well don't trust your soul to no back woods
southern lawyer
Cause the judge in the town's got
bloodstains on his hands
Andy got scared and left the bar
Walking on home cause he didn't live far
you see
Andy didn't have many friends and he just
lost him one
Brother thought his wife must've left town
So he went home and finally found the
only thing
Papa had left him and that was a gun
He went off to Andy'd house
Slipping through the back woods quiet as
a mouse
Came upon some tracks too small for Andy
to make
He looked through the screen at the back
porch door
And he saw Andy lying on the floor
In a puddle of blood and he started
to shake
The Georgia patrol was a making their
rounds
So he fired a shot just to flag em down
And a big bellied sherrif grabbed his gun
and said
"Why'd you do it?"
That's the night that the lights went out
in Georgia
That's the night that they hung an
innocent man
Well don't trust your soul to no back woods
southern lawyer
Cause the judge in the town's got
bloodstains on his hands
Well they hung my brother before I could say
The tracks he saw while on his way
To Andy's house and back that night
were mine
And his cheatin wife had never left town
And that's one body that'll never be found
You see little sister don't miss when she
aims her gun
That's the night that the lights went out
in Georgia
That's the night that they hung an
innocent man
Well don't trust your soul to no backwoods
southern lawyer
Cause the judge in the town's got
bloodstains on his hands
That's the night that the lights went out
in Georgia Whoa-oh-oh
That's the night that they hung an
innocent man Whoa-oh-yeah
Well don't trust you soul to no backwoods
southern lawyer
Cause the judge in the town's got
bloodstains on his hands

Hey beacon! So far 40 has been kind to me. More gray hair but that goes away on the 16th (going red again!)
Hope you are feeling better soon!

Good morning, yesterday
You wake up and time has slipped away
And suddenly it's hard to find
The memories you left behind
Remember, do you remember?
The laughter and the tears
The shadows of misty yesteryears
The good times and the bad you've seen
And all the others in between
Remember, do you remember
The times of your life? (do you remember?)
Reach out for the joy and the sorrow
Put them away in your mind
The mem'ries are time that you borrow
To spend when you get to tomorrow
Here comes the setting sun (the setting sun)
The seasons are passing one by one
So gather moments while you may
Collect the dreams you dream today
Remember, will you remember
The times of your life?
Gather moments while you may
Collect the dreams you dream today
Remember, will you remember
The times of your life?
Of your life
Of your life
Do you remember, baby
Do you remember the times of your life?
FADE
Do you remember, baby
Do you remember the times of your life?

Hi there folks. Hope everyones weekend is going well. Spent to day looking at new cars for Dave. ( he has quite an icky commute)So he has become somewhat picky in what he wants in the next car. Need sleep. night all!
Hey everyone. Busy day entertaining an old friend from college. Lots of laughs !!!
Beacon...did you that "The Night The Lights Went Out In Georgia" was originally offered to Cher and that Sonny had her refuse it because he said it was an insult to the south. I believe Vicki's husband wrote the song, if memory serves me correctly and that's why she eventually recorded the song. Believe it or not, I have the LP.
Undi...You are just gonna have the best time tomorrow. I wish I could be there. I hope you bringing flowers for Adam.

Bboobs,
Just wanted you to know that I, too, love your Sophia icon. She is a real lady. Such class. Too bad that many of those in the subsequent generations of Hollywood seem to have missed that lesson.

I hope you like my new Sophia icon.
Whatever happened to class in Hollywood?

What a Lady she is. And, I saw an interview once with her and her two sons. She was such a proud Mom. It really struck me that she was a genuine, real person who loved her family so much. That her career was her career but her family is her life.
That is such a rare yet crucial mindset for lasting happiness.
Now...explain that to the latest crop... :o(

Got my copy of I, Lucifer today, and can't wait to get started!
Undi - have a great time at AIDA.
Boobs - laughter and time spent with old friends is probably one of life's greatest joys. Hope it was a fantastic day for you - you deserve it
Good morning everybody. hope all is well with you. Today we're off to see some old college friends. I like this idea of three day weekends. I say we me it permannent, and if we reallllly like it we expand it to a four day weekend!

mominator - as Pooh would say, "Oh, bother." Reality is just a trifling little detail that I think we should all reconsider as a foundation for our lives. I mean, really, it can be quite irksome to have your wants, needs and desires sidelined by these pesky little interruptions of the real world
The real world interrupts far too much, I fear. But I, for one, am taking advantage of the long weekend to be utterly and completely lazy. It is 10:30 here in DC and I'm just rolling out of bed and making my way to the coffee....
