Good morning. I need coffee. Boobs, I've always been a believer in over packing. It's always better to have more than you need.

joeyjoe - nice to have someone pack for you! (although, I admit to being a bit of a control freak, and like to do things MY way...so I would probably end up re-doing it all anyway.) And you're right about overpacking - my usual issue is shoes. I just need so many!

Good morning Nina. I feel the same way about bringing more than you may need on vacation, but joeyjoe does make a good point, you can always buy things where you're going if you need to. Seems I always forget to bring a little bag to carry things in and so I always wind up buying one. I now have many size bags to put around your waist or carry on your back.

I leave things like that in my suitcase. My travel 'staples'. That way I know I won't forget to pack them.

joeyjoe, I LOVE the way you think! Shopping is always more fun when you are on vacation, (even if it is only a little weekend get away!)
adgal, I'd pack for you. Morning Nina, any big plans this weekend?

Yes, if you have the time to shop, that works. I'm always afraid of finding that I don't have the right outfit for an occassion or the shoes are not right and find that there is no time to shop. So, I just bring everything.

Yes, Nina. And it usually comes down to accessories which I've forgotten to pack. Stuff that you can't just run into any old store and buy.

he'll be here... he needs to see the cake at some point...
and NY, i do all my own packing... no one else seems to get it right... also, another rule for me is if we're staying in one hotel the entire time, i pack much more... however, when travelling in Italy, and moving between cities, it makes more sense to pack as lightly as popssible... there is a self-serve laundromat in Florence that knows my name now!

joeyjoe - that's so true! I pack more when I'm staying put. Nice to know the laundromats, though! I may need the name of that one in Florence. I have a great one in Paris. They even sprinkle that lovely lavendar water on when ironing. I bring extra laundry just to have them do it!

The only nightmare I had was when we went to Chicago for a wedding and as I was fully dressed and I realized I forgot my dress shoes. I only had sneakers. I had 15 minutes to find a shoe store, buy a pair of shoes and get to the church (I was an usher). Luckily there was a shoe store on the corner from the Hotel and I just grabbed a pair of black shoes and ran out. Made it to the church on time... a little sweaty.
