hey beacon!
white lipstick - absolutely.
During the Twiggy era. Dark eyes and pale lips.
During the 70s the big thing was Lipgloss - preferably scented and flavored! (yuck!)
And, for the maximum disco effect - eyeshadow teamed up with white eyeliner...
(again, were we blind?? did we have no mirrors?? how did we think that looked good??)

With that chemistry set...
How many times did YOU draw your own blood to look at it under a microscope?
I was walking around with a few puncture wounds.

Which reminds me...
In college cousin, her husband and I decided to take advantage of selling our white blood cells for cash as the local Blood Bank.
They draq out two pints of whole blood (like milk) then separate the white from the red cells (through centrifigul force) and feed the red cells back into your system.
All for, what the hell was it...$15.00?

Lot to catch up on here...Tube socks with the color bands around the top.
I had a Blue and a tan lesuire suit. Everyone was wearing them. My Mom said I had to have them.
Senior prom I wore a grey tuxedo with a pink ruffle shirt to match my girlfriend's gown. She wore a dark pink chiffon fully pleated gown with spaghetti straps.

yep...I examined my own blood, hair...found it fascinating...Dad encouraged it. Mom thought it was disgusting in her kitchen.
I had friends in college who 'sold' blood, also.
The closest I came to that was donating blood for days off at my first company. (I would have donated the blood anyway, but the extra vacation was a nice perk!)

Tube socks - absolutely! In many different color combinations.
Also, later in the 70s painters pants became a big fashion trend. Paired with rugby shirts...
And Dean's sweaters. With a patterend yoke around the neck - and a 3 button closure. I had them in just about every color of the rainbow - and pretty much lived in them in college...paired with just the right color turtleneck!

oh, boobs - that sounds alot like my prom gown - except mine was emerald green...
and I had forgotten to tell my date that I had little straps, so not to get me a corsage that had to be pinned...so we had to get a little creative with it so I could wear it on my wrist.
Then, when I got home instead of putting it back in the plastic case to put in the refrigerator to try to preserve it, I stuck it in the freezer...so it was dead as could be the next day!

Posted: 8/1/04 at 7:00pmI wore white painter pants, with red canvas loafers that had yellow plastic heels. The memories of that outfit still gives my sister nightmares. Did I mention I wore it with a canary yellow double-breasted shirt and a red woven metallic tie?

yes - wallabees - I wore them so ofter, I wore them out!
DG - that's some image!!!
I also enjoyed my 'angel sleeve' blouses - back in the early 70s. They were like bell bottoms for sleeves...
and peasant blouses...
and my blue-jean purse that I sewed from old blue jeans I cut up.

Posted: 8/1/04 at 7:08pmTube socks - pulled all the way up. It's funny to see footage of tennis players in the 70's with those socks and their VERY tight short-shorts. Maybe that's why I liked tennis.

Yes! Bboobs - I made and wore those jean skirts. I was very handy with a sewing machine!
Thanks to Home Ec class!! (Do they still have those classes?)
And I used to crochet hats - with floppy rims, or just little caps...
Anyone remember people wearing crocheted beer can hats? I never had one, but remember wondering how in the world they were made.

DGrant - very tight shorts - like those track shorts that we all started wearing. They bordered on indecent!
I remember when you HAD to wear white to play tennis. And I could only wear tennis dresses - with those little panties underneath...

Posted: 8/1/04 at 7:16pmI remember us having a crochetted doll that went around our toilet paper.

My grandmother was into those little things.
I guess toilet paper was too unseemly to just have out!
