WOW !!!! You all make Boobs so proud...alot to catch up on (I am Blind now NYadgal - LOL), but we past the Eddie what's his name thread..LOL !!!! Cheers...the champagne is delish.
I'll try to make my night short. Opening act for Cyndi was a singer named Jennifers Marks...very sweet sound...plays guitar...enjoyed her..thought of you guys because she does a song called "My High School Reunion" and talks about all the people like the Prom Queen who is now fat. Very cute.
When she was over there was a break and you think Miss Lauper is coming out...NO..a surprise...Taylor Dane !!! Remember her gang? Yes she did "Tell It To My Heart" and my favorite of hers "I'll Always Love You". The girl can sing, but her face doesn't change...no it's frozen...same expression...do you think botox??? Anywho... she's done..instrument change...lights go out, piano starts to play and the "Tremendous, yes Tremendous" Cyndi Lauper walks out singing the classic.."At Last"...yes the crowd was uncontrollable. She sings that song and you melt. She had the crowd on our feet all night. Does all her classics and again she gets me..tears pouring down my face when she does "True Colors" of course she tells you the whole story of her friend who died from AIDS before they even knew about the virus and her sister being a lesbian and that she's a PFLAG and then she drapes a rainbow flag that someone made for her, over her shoulder and starts the song out with just a guitar and then a violin comes in...kills me everytime. For her encore, Taylor Dane comes out with her and they sing a duet of "Time After Time"...it was amazing. Of course the final song of the evening was..."Girls Just Want To Have Fun." If any of you ever have the chance to see her in concert, please don't hesitate. Hope that wasn't too long.
"To be yourself in a world that is constantly trying to make you something else is the greatest accomplishment.
