Check out the citibike map with this map that shows the income of the areas of NYC. (DARK BLUE MANHATTAN WESTERN BKLYN)
maybe its a coincidence but they do match up nicely.

Vimeo video about an "invisible" helmet--essentially a 'personal' airbag for your head, worn as a padded collar. (Hipster-yellow suspenders not included)
Interesting idea--not sure that the bulky, "puffer"-like collar is an improvement over one of the sleeker helmets, but I can see potential.

The real problem with the Citi-bike program is the fact that it was so obviously designed in a way that discriminates against Christians, as this secret map from Bloomberg's deputy Mayor for Religious Persecution shows...

Thanks to the advice earlier on this thread, I managed to use CITI-Bike and had great fun, I guess the system is still working itself through with the logistics. But here is a few suggestions.
1, Have bike stations around Central Park
2, Also one at the Lincoln Center would be good too.
3, Bikes at around Times Square locations empty very quickly late evening, conversely sites not far from Times Square fill up and you can't dock your bike.
4, I would be issued a code sometimes and it wouldn't work, so I would re-insert my credit card for another code, not realizing there is a fair use, which meant I run out of credit earlier than planned.
5, Put a processing station either end of the bike station, which would mean bikes get used more evenly.
Whilst waiting for my ride for the airport at port authority, 42nd Street, I notice in the morning peak, the operators couldn't fill the docking station fast enough, as soon as 4 bikes came along from the Citi Bike agents the bikes went.
As I say the system is still working itself out and looking forward to using it again.
