I knew someone who went to FYIT and loved it.
Two of my friends go to FIT and love it too...but it's an art school. What kind of business do you want to get into?

They have an advertising major...
maybe?
Pace offered me a lot of money for their honors program to their business school (which is basically automatic if your SATs are over 1800) but I turned them down for NYU.

If you were going theatre program-wise, I'd have to brag and say that SUNY New Paltz has one of the strongest ones in the SUNY system. It's an hour and 15 from the city and has fairly easy transport to get down there. With financial grants and in-state tuition costs, I pay 1/4 of the cost for one year at NYU for my entire undergraduate education here. Out-of-state costs are significantly more by about 5,000 or 6,000 dollars I believe. That goes for pretty much the entire system of SUNYs.
SUNY Purchase is a very good school, too - and it is an hour's commute into NYC.
Hunter is a good school, and it's CUNY so it's not at all expensive.
There's a small school in the Bronx called the College of Mt St Vincent. It's in Riverdale, an upscale neighborhood, and express busses run into Manhattan on a regular basis. The campus is beautiful, located right on the Hudson River. With room & board, cost is around $31k.

When I said under 30, I meant quite a bit under :-/. Any schools that are around 20-25ish maybe?
Thank you so much everyone.

I think SUNY tuitions are only inexpensive for New York residents. If you're out of state it can be as expensive as a private college or university.

Actually, all SUNY schools are about $10 thousand for out of state students, as well. I'm from CT and I'm applying to SUNY Cortland. It's cheap!

DGG, really? It was different years ago!

Yup! It's great. A couple of the SUNY schools have great theater programs, too!
DG, 10k a semester or a year?

Year, I think. But it would still be pretty good at 20k a year.
Well for a NY school it is. Fordham's about 36kish University of Alabama is about 12k a year(For those who live on campus).
Pace has pretty good program for business majors...
CUNY Baruch is quite possibly amazing for what one would be paying.
I don't know what kind of student you are, but if you have grades, SAT scores, and extracurriculars to be happy about you'll probably get a good chunk of money from Fordham, Pace, and St. John's. I can't speak for Marymount because I myself didn't apply nor did many of my friends.
If you're interested in the CUNY system you might want to do the Macaulay Honors College. Basically you'll be going to a CUNY school tuition free, getting lots of free stuff, possibly free dorming... and you get treated like royalty when it comes to registration, etc.
Financial aid may work your favor... who knows? It still like blew my mind when a friend showed me her financial aid package to a school we both got in to and were considering. I got a close to full tuition scholarship because it was one of my safety/match schools... and the financial aid office just took care of her so that we were basically paying practically the same amount...
SUNYs!
You should take a good look at SUNY Purchase. Costs are VERY reasonable, and it's relatively accessible to NYC.

Friends of mine went to Hunter and had positive things to say about their experience. And I believe tuition room and board is less than $20,000.
SUNY Purchase and SUNY New Paltz are both reasonably priced, have good theatre programs and are about an hour from the city.
I have a friend who goes to CW Post and is happy with it, she got a lot of money.
Hofstra gives a lot of money but here is a warning - it is getting a LOT harder to get into. Half of the current students wouldn't have gotten in if they applied last year.
I know someone who went to FIT, his complaint was that he did have to pay a lot of money in extra technology and supplies.
There is always Adelphi which i have heard also gives a lot of money.
Also, schools in NJ are cheaper and just as easy to get to the city from, so you may want to consider that.

Catie--your account says you don't accept PMs. Yes, I am a select candidate. I'm going to talk with whoever is coming to visit my school on Friday from Hofstra. :)

I would just like to say that I am visiting Texas Tech University in Lubbock, TX... and I have never been more homesick in my life. I can't deal with conservative west Texas cities...
Everyone here is an alcoholic... I don't drink, so I'm sitting at my friend's cousin's house alone on Saturday night posting on my Broadway message board.
God, I want to go to NY for school. I'm trying one more city (AUSTIN) out next weekend--and if THAT doesn't work out, then I'm definitely going to go to some school in New York--no matter what the cost.
