McCann'a irish oatmeal... while it's cooking, mix some brown sugar into it. it's amazing.

Fried anything really does the trick for me, but some personal favorites:
Fried chicken
Biscuits and gravy
Deep fried pickles (so good)
Cheeseburger with very crispy french fries
Chicken and dumplings
Pad Thai
Chinese dumplings
Pork roll, egg and cheese sandwiches
Also, there's a restaurant near my apartment that has a wrap on their menu called "The Day After Thanksgiving": turkey, cranberry sauce, stuffing and gravy wrapped in a sun-dried tomato tortilla. It's my go-to sandwich when I'm on the run or don't feel like cooking.

Country Fried Steak with cream gravy acoompanied by turnip, mustard or collard greens, macaroni and cheese and corn muffin or biscuit with honey butter.
Buttermilk fried chicken with any of the accompanying vegetables mentioned above.
Of course all of my comfort foods could give you a massive heart attack.

Posted: 7/19/10 at 3:47pmBoobs, even today, I can't eat chicken soup with any other pasta. When I am sick I pick up a quart of consomme from my favorite Jewish deli and boil some pastina. Yum.
