Is anyone interested in seeing this?

According to several early reviews, it's supposed to be an unusually creepy and intense horror movie... Anyone? Updated On: 9/13/05 at 04:27 PM

the commercial where the guy and girl are talking on the picture phone and she sends him a picture and sees someone behind her was really crepy, and made me want to see the movie, like now.

They filmed a lot of this at my school. It looks great, I can't wait to see it.

Could be good. I'm into urban legends in general, and the notion of two people making one up and having it come to life is neat and really creepy.

Once AGAIN the fact that there is a twist in the movie is revealed before I get a chance to see it. So F***ING infuriating.

Nothing precious, plain to see, don't make a fuss over me. Not loud, not soft, but somewhere inbetween. Say sorry, just let it be the word you mean.

Shan't. I hate knowing there will be a twist ahead of time and NO mention of any twist has been made in the pre-release campaign for the movie so far. So I'm pissed.

Okay! Well, there's nothing more I can do about it now, other than edit the message.

Well it's too late for that, isn't it? Next time the phrase you're looking for is "possible spoilers included".

You can edit your message all you like, I am still going to know that Cry_Wolf has a supposedly fabulous twist. I am aware I'm overreacting but I was looking forward to going into this movie knowing almost nothing.

Well, sorry. I can't do anything about it. Anyway, if the movie's good, the twist will be well-hidden until the end.

Given that I spent 3 years studying film, even good twists are sometimes very obvious to me, if I know they're coming. Even if I don't know, it's sometimes not difficult to predict. But it does help.

Watched it yesterday. LAME. An idea ripped off from an early Kate Hudson dud (Gossip) and very flawed in its execution with twists (yes, there's more than one) blindingly obvious before they're revealed. Add into that some amateur performances and characters you WANT to see skewered and all in all it's a gigantic missed opportunity. It's especially irksome as the last line of the movie and its delivery are fantastic. Had the preceding 90 minutes been that great, they'd be on a winner.

I saw this the other night - against my will.

For a standard horror/thrill movie, it was actually very good. I'm not judging this on the same grounds as something like AMERICAN BEAUTY - I'm judging it purely as a horror film - and I have to say, that I was very entertained. I knew there was supposed to be a big twist at the end, and it still surprised me - both of them. I could have done without the second twist - it made it less "believable" - but still, it was a very enjoyable night. It kept me entertained. Plus, the guy playing Owen is a dream.

I didn't know until after I saw it that this movie actually was the winning entry in a film competition sponsored by Chrysler - the winner got $1,000,000 to get the movie made. Considering the budget was so low, I'd say it was pretty well done. But I agree that it was a little too similar to "Gossip" for me to think it was really clever or original.

Finally saw it on DVD, and... I'm torn. On one side, there is a very talented new director, Jeff Wadlow, who shows off great skill with the camera. There is also a rather talented cast (Julian Morris and Lindy Booth, in particular), creepy setting, and an intruiging plot.

However, what gets in the way is a parade of contrived and rather frustrating plot twists that goes on and on ad nauseum. There were so many places that the screenwriter could have gone, but I guess, for a debut filmmaker, this will do. I would like to see what Wadlow does next.

I think Lindy Booth may be the next big Canadian export, ala Ryan Gosling and Rachel McAdams. She has proved herself in various Canadian TV and indie flicks, and its her turn to take on Hollywood.
