I have nothing against Bristol Palin personally. But she should not be in the final. This show has turned into a total joke.

This is ABC's wet dream. They've gotten so much more publicity by keeping her on board. Imagine if she had been voted off in the first few weeks, as she should have been. Would DWTS be getting so much press right now? Of course not. That's why the judges have been coddling her, and marking her WAY above where she should be. I don't know how their process works for blending judges' marks with votes, but you'd have to think that if she had been scored accurately by the judges, she'd be gone by now.

I actually saw on the DWTS facebook page yesterday that it seems Bristol is also getting votes because apparently she's the underdog. That was the reason some people gave to wanting her to stay. If she were good, that would be a totally different story. But, none of her scores are up to par with the remaining couples.

As compared to? None of these 'competitions' have anything to do with the 'talent' involved. They're all very carefully orchestrated entertainments - and this one has played most of the buttons correctly (as far as achieving their goal, which is MONEY.)

Q, I do think that sometimes the most talented win but for the most part I agree with you. I mean look at Carrie Underwood and Kelly Clarkson.

Maybe people were tuning into DWTS to see Jennifer or Kyle. The ratings can't be attributed to one person so I'm not gonna assume it was because of Bristol. I also saw where Palin's Alaska show lost 40% of their viewers on the 2nd episode! Gotta love that. Glad SWTS did so poorly. I flipped the channel over and it was so bad. Bethenney looked so fake and then when I saw Khate Gosselin in the audience- well- that did it for me. Entertainment Tonight hired her as a special correspondent. Don't EVEN get me started on that!

Skating with the Stars was painfully boring. The hosts are so unlikeable, in my opinion. I know Brooke Burke is boring on DWTS, but Tom Bergeron is good, and the judges are crazy.

SWTS is a blatent rip of a show in Canada ( maybe licensed?) called Battle of the Blades. In that version(and this is the fun) well known hockey players are paired with ice dance pros. The hockey guys have to learn a whole new style of skating ie with someone instead of checking then into the boards. The point was BOTH partys can skate just not the way each other does and the "fish out of water" bit is both hilarious and encouraging as these big bruisers have to learn to skate "dainty" like.
Just finding enough entertainers(SWTS) who can skate ( and were willing to humiliate themselve in this) must have been a challenge!
