The whole video just seems like an Arrested Development cutaway.
Bleeeeeaaaaaak love.

Her grandfather was Russell Crouse. Maybe she should ask her mother to loosen up some of The Sound of Music money.
Too bad she doesn't talk to her mother.
These poor struggling artists!

Her mother is just spacey enough to leave the fortune to the family cat. Zo-girl better wake up and make amends. Does she realize how many times TSOM is performed around the world (not to mention the money from the film)?
I like Zosia a lot on Girls but nope. Didn't like when Braff did this, don't like it now.
I could be completely ignorant, but doesn't $32,000 sound high for one low-budget music video?
Cheapskates. Use your own SAG at-least-minimum GIRLS salary.
Or your father's millions.
Well, they have their iPhone bills to pay, and their Rodeo Drive credit card bills ... they can't possibly afford to pay for this themselves. It would totally require them to miss a couple of house payments.

She was also just in an off-Broadway play at the Lucille Lortel so she could use her own AEA off-Broadway salary.
Loved when VERONICA MARS did the Kickstarter campaign, it was a way to prove to the studio that there was an interest in the project and it put the ball on the fan's court. However, it inevitably spiraled out of control, and now people are using it to replicate the most dangerous capitalist practices, make the public spend their money so you can keep yours and make even more. The Braff thing was disgusting and this is just outrageous. Love Zosia Mamet so much on GIRLS but this turns me off so badly, shame on them.

To be fair, the AEA LORT salary ain't exactly bank. I doubt she made 32k during the entire rehearsal and performance period.
This sort of thing doesn't bother me. It really sorts itself out: If folks want to support it, they do. If not, the project fails.
But $32K is an awful lot of money to raise in 14 days.

I stopped watching Girls a few episodes in. I didn't think Mamet was as terrible on that as she was on Mad Men (always with the hands on the pockets!), but this song just made me laugh out loud.
ETA - I didn't realize that was the other Mamet girl on The Neighbors. She's a better actress than Zosia, for sure, but both of them seem to have gotten all their acting training from their dad's horrible books about acting.

This just gives me another reason to hate Girls.

Watch their mother on Uta Hagen's acting video. She's doing (I think) a Chekhov scene. She takes water from a flower vase and splashes it on her head. Unfortunately Uta doesn't say WTF was that all about?
I don't really have a problem with "rich" people starting Kickstarters. If someone wants to throw buckets of money at Zach Braff or the Veronica Mars people, that's fine by me and doesn't hurt anyone. As Broadway nuts, we spend lots of money on things some would probably find strange, so I try not to judge how others spend their money. Still, this project looks ridiculous (as did the not-funded Melissa Joan Hart project that was unintentionally hilarious). On the plus side, I did find this:
Fun Times With The Mamets
I've grown really tired with the artistic hands out. I think Kickstarter and its fellows are about to hit the wall. Fans are as tapped out as the artists, studios, record companies.
Im happy to throw 10-20 bucks at an established musician to help them cut an album and it gets me a copy. Other than that, piss off at this point.
Not every artistic whim needs to be realized. If you believe in it, put your own money up.
If they want to start up a Kickstarter fund, they have just as much right as anyone else.
And we have every right to make the choice to not give to them. As are many, it seems...

Goth, I think they have different mothers, but are you talking about Rebecca Pidgeon? She's where talent goes to die! Imagine her and the daughters in something directed by Mamet and I just imagine never wanting to see a movie or play again.

I'm super happy to Kickstart something I want to see, like a documentary I just saw at a film festival. Super bonus, my name scrolled by on the big screen in the closing credits.

I donated to aKickstarter for a dvd production of this. And they hit their goal the other day!

Oh sorry, I forget they have different actress-mothers. I was talking about Zosia and her mother Lindsay Crouse.

Me, too. I'm very enthused about a documentary about the Streits Matzo Factory on the Lower East Side

I also contributed to the making of the WLIR radio station (a very important part of my teenage years) documentary on indiegogo.
