Hopefully this will turn into a Cars Land situation. I don't love Cars, but I love Cars Land. I don't even LIKE Avatar, but it looks like I might like Avatar Land. Beastly Kingdom still would have been better, but that ship has sailed.

It's a heck of a lot better than the long train ride to the conservation station with no real attraction. Maybe this will be the kick Disney needs to actually swing the park back to educational entertainment. Ever go on the rapids ride themed after deforestation after they removed all the audio discussing deforestation? It's terrible. It's just a really ugly opener with no story to a ride that could have a really positive message. Same with the toned down safari that has almost completely removed the poaching aspect. The dead mama Red elephant was a terrible choice, but that doesn't mean the message was bad.

Avatar is largely about conservation of resources. It's a perfect fit for the original vision of Animal Kingdom. Now to see if they actually do that or just present pretty colors.

There are going to be three more Avatar films. The first is one of the highest grossing movies of all time. The second will come out before this park opens. That should just about do it.

It looks really pretty and that may be enough. It's just that the first film didn't seem to have the pop culture endurance that was expected.

Don't count on it. Did you ever see what EPCOT was like in the 80s? It was a far superior park, but the company had little faith in its sustainability. Same thing with Animal Kingdom which is why this completely irrelevant land is being built.

Pretty colors. Disney will use the "conservation" angle much in the same way Avatar did for its screenplay. It's an excuse for visual effects. Should the Avatar land be a success and draw in crowds, Disney will ditch the conservation angle altogether like they did with the other areas of the park.

Def. think Beastly Kingdom with elements of Avatar would be cool, but to dedicate the whole thing to Avatar seems silly and not within the Disney realm.

I still think Avatar was one big, dumb movie.

If the sequels tank, this theme park is going to suffer. At least the Harry Potter theme park is based on 7 books and 8 movies.

Personally, I'm waiting for the Titanic theme park. Oh, and the Gone With the Wind theme park in Atlanta, where they burn the city to the ground every night, right after the 12 Oaks barbecue.
