I just lost my Cheesecake Factory virginity the other night and found it delicious.

Eh. I've never found it to be anything special.
I do, but I've only been once.
They had some type of ahi on the menu, and it wasn't quite what I wanted. The waitress asked me what I would like no matter the menu, I said Seared Ahi Open-Face Tacos, and she went back to the chef, and he/she was kind enough to make the dish for me.
I was very pleased with the service there. It was great.
I went to one in LA and thought it was putrid.
I must be lucky-the ones I went to in Florida and New Jersey were excellent. We all loved our meals and then especially the cheesecakes! Service was perfect too.
You had to start ANOTHER thread?
I'm sure it didn't occur to him that there may already have been a thread on the Cheesecake Factory. I can't blame him too much for that. But it goes to show you, you never know what has been discussed here before~
Dead threads should be locked. Who wants to add to a year two discussion?
I love the Cheesecake Factory. I've never had a bad meal, and they've got a nice selection of drinks.
The store at the Forum Shops stopped selling the bruschetta, which really pissed me off. It was so good!
We haven't been there in a while.

You just did, and I thank you! It's fun to read over some of those old heated arguments which happened so long ago.
I replied here, not to that other one.
And it's fun to read back, but the discussion is long gone.
You're right, I forgot which thread I was posting on.
"And it's fun to read back, but the discussion is long gone."
That's why they're fun to read back.
It's probably more fun for us who were here back then.

I admit - I like it. It's a guilty pleasure. I like the Da Vinci pasta and the grilled shrimp and bacon club sandwich. But to be honest, I would probably never go there if it weren't for the cheesecake (which is awesome).
My husband doesn't like it AT ALL...except the desserts, which he prefers to take out.

ehhhh. The cheescake was really good, but I was not fond of the food. For the wait that the ones around here get, I usually avoid it.
Love the cheesecake, and the food's quite good, but it's definitely too overpriced and overhyped for me to ever go there on my own dime. Just not quite worth it.
I hate the fact that the one here doesn't take reservations. As a consequence the wait is always more than thirty minutes. I can't think of many policies that are less considerate of customers. I make a really mean cheesecake. I don't need them. Anyone want the recipe, PM me. It'll set you free.
same here, astsc. I will not wait more than 15 minutes, especially for a chain restaurant.
The food's ok for me, but if I'm going downtown there are many other restaurants I'd rather patronize.
Since when did The Cheesecake Factory become overpriced? That place serves the most shamefully jimongous portions and the average price for an entree is around $15.
But with that said, I don't like their cheesecake. It's kind of light and airy and if I'm going to be eating cheesecake it's got to be dense and bricklike and it should feel like it will sit in the pit of my stomach forever.
I'm in NJ and the ones I've been to here have been pretty good. My new pet peeve (guess I'm getting old): I can't stand to be asked 15 times, "is everything ok?"....I can't answer with my mouth full of food!!!
Only had Elis Cheescake at the Taste Of Chicago. Cheesecake, Billy Goats Tavern, Crablegs, A taste of Broadway In Chicago, what a fun day!
I LOVE the Cheesecake Factory. There is a certain taste to all their food that I just love. I would say it is the herbs, but more than likely it is probably the oil or fat they cook their food in.
Their fish tacos, pastas, and salads are all great.
Surprisingly enough, I'm not a huge fan of their cheesecake. I like Junior's cheesecake better!
Is this a trick question?
Hmm, the reason for me to go to the CF is the cheesecake! I'll order food, but it's incidental! also, I didn't find my cheesecake to be light and airy. I hate that! It's got to be dense and heavy for me, and mine was. Maybe it depends on the kind you order?
It's like 45 grams of fat for one piece. I was enjoying myself until I found that out. I haven't had any since.

Within the first five posts, LA, Florida and New Jersey were mentioned.
I couldn't care less about this particular chain - I'm just sick of chains in general. Can't ANYONE in this country - outside of a couple of specific pockets - give their money to real people running real restaurants in their area?!?
I hate the homogenization of our 'culture'.
it's ok, a better than average chain, but there is much better cheesecake around
