Indeed it was. I think there was the perfect amount of Chang in last night's episode.

Ratings: Community Returns, Does Much Better Than 30 Rock Did
I'm letting out a (very cautious and not too loud) "yay" about that. Maybe if this keeps up NBC will order an additional 10 episodes to make a full season.

I wonder. I read they finished production on these back in December, so who knows? I just feel like, if these 13 episodes ARE it, then I hope there's some kind of closure at the end. But I'd still rather just have six seasons and a movie.
If the ratings continue like this, I can't see NBC canceling. It wouldn't make any sense (not that they're known for making sense...)

Now that Chevy Chase is gone, they should hire Dan Harmon back.
I'm so ok with Chase being gone. My one and only complaint about the series has been with his character. Especially in "Advanced Dungeons & Dragons", I just get so uncomfortable watching because of how cruel he is. It doesn't fit with the show and never sat well with me.
I feel completely out of the loop...I have not watched one single episode of this show, but this thread alone has gotten me interested in seeing it. I've got a lot of catching up to do if I'm going to take that on...

It's not everyone's cup of tea, but it's my favoritest show on the air.
The only thing funnier on TV is drunk Kathie Lee in the morning.

I'm gonna give it a shot...now I've got to work it into my schedule...but it's do-able

And Joel McHale in varying (but network-friendly) states of undress is another thing I love about this show.
Joel's gotten bigger since last season. I thought he was gonna burst out of his shirt. He makes me een moister than before.

He's all man, baby. I see what the Dean sees in him.
Didn't Fred Willard's name come up as a Chase replacement should the show live ( if it keeps some of its premiere ratings I think it can along with Christina Applegate leading an Up All Night mercy kill) or was that just wild guesses? Because that is strange enough to actually work thanks to AbedTV.

Maybe they could send the cast of Up All Night to Community!
strummergirl, Dan Harmon said in an AMA on Reddit that Fred Willard was one of the people he had wanted to play Pierce (along with John Cleese and Patrick Stewart), but Sony insisted on Chevy Chase.
That's....... disappointing. Willard could have been great with Pierce and the man deserves better work.

Man, every time I hear the Patrick Stewart dreamcasting anecdote I get wistful. I think Chevy is fine as a performer, but man, Stewart would have brought something else entirely to the role. And, you know, not been a jerk.
I'm pretty sure tonight's episode will go down as one of the best of the series.

Agreed. I loved everything about it.
