Back in the 90's our local WB station used to do that with BUFFY. They would air local basketball games instead of it, showing it at something like 4am on Sunday morning. Way back before DVR's were even an idea in anyone's head.

The CW affiliate her has everything start an hour late because they air an hour long newscast at 7 o'clock. This town's tv stations really think highly of their news broadcasts.

F*CK KSDK, but streets ahead, you know?
I started rewatching the show from the beginning a few days ago, and I'm well into season two by now. I hate to say it, but maybe there is a notable difference. I just don't know anymore.
It just seems like everyone in the great cold world of the 3 million or so people who ever gave a crap about the show has given up on it. And it's sad, because everyone wants it to be killed, and I think even know I I kind of want it to be killed.
Also, I've concluded that sleeping with Jeff is what turned Britta into Britta. Or rather, was Britta was Britta-ed (how IS that spelled?) when she slept with Jeff. He f*cked her stupid.

I thought this week's was almost like old time Community.
I used to think the only important relationship Abed should have should be his friendship with Troy. And tonight's episode was the opposite of that. Troy was underused. Abed had cute, meta stuff with a like-minded non-Troy person. I loved it so much.
It was total old time COMMUNITY and I loved every second of it. The stuff with Pierce telling Jeff to be nice to Brittany almost made me cry, as did the scene that followed.
And the puppets at the end. I mean, we need an entire episode with the puppets.
Won't there be? Danny Pudi's voiceover for it said it was a preview of the next episode. Must research!

We're getting it next week!
That girl who played the coat check girl was great. I didn't recognize her from 21 Jump Street at first.
It is a puppet musical (although not 100% puppet) with music by Adam Levine. Jason Alexander guest stars.

OH MY GOD! lol I had no idea that was for real!!
I have loved the last couple of episodes that I think are objectively very strong (anybody who still is bemoaning no Harmon is butthurt at this point). Good to see Brie Larson (as brunette) in the recent one. Cannot wait to see the puppet episode.

Besides being unable to get "Damn I Wish I Was Your Lover" and "As I Lay Me Down" out of my head all weekend, I make myself laugh every time I think of Britta saying, "Sophie be coming."

I'm still on the fence, I guess. I'll have to rewatch it later. I think maybe my expectations were off. I didn't hate it but any means, I just thought it was really really dark.

I get the feeling that some of the actors did not do their own singing for the puppet segments. What are the odds that all of them would be able to sing consistently on pitch?

Well, I'm sure they have access to a mixing studio. It's hardly the first time they've all sang, and it's always been obvious the best singers are Shirley, Annie and Troy.

That was definitely Yvettte Nicole Brown and Alison Brie singing. Gillian Jacobs is obviously not the greatest singer but that sounded like her.
Liked the episode. Felt like a plot and episode from those kid puppet shows that I used to watch. It grew on me as the episode went on.

I remember Yvette Nicole Brown singing on Boston Legal.
They all sang during the Christmas episode last year as well.

My local NBC station is showing their own paid programming tonight but - miracle of miracles! - they are preempting the rerun of The Office instead of Community!
It's almost like they read the emails I sent to five different addresses after the last one, although I'm not holding my breath that they did since I got nary a response, except the out of office reply that told me to email someone else who never emailed back.
