re: Does Sarah Brightman Terrify Anyone Else?

When she sings, she holds her arms out in front of her like the bride of Frankenstein.

But she doesn't scare me half as much as Sarah Palin does.

Just to clear things up, I think Sarah's absolutely gorgeous, and I think she's a talented singer-- there's just something about her facial expressions and her style of performance that I always find rather creepy. I'm not sure what it is. At least she's not as scary as she was when she was younger, though-- I've been pleasantly surprised by some of her more recent stuff.

Kathy-- I think she's beautiful and talented, but she just scares me. Like, Terrence Mann, he's my favourite performer tied with Michael Ball, but I just think there's something really creepy about him. I wouldn't want to run into Sarah Brightman in a dark alleyway, though I have had nightmares about that.

My sympathies--I hate when seemingly harmless youtube videos turn out to be "shockers" or whatever you call them. I used to get these things regularly in my office email, and they were just one more thing to delete.

I didn't care for her during Phantom cimply because I wasn't fond of her voice at the time. But I learned to appreciate her later when she released Dive and Fly, still my two favorite Brightman albums.

And for those interested, her Christmas CD "A Winter Symphony" releases next week.

I am super excited about seeing her Symphony concert in Orlando on November 14th, having seen both La Luna and Harem, I know what to look forward to. So to answer the topic question, no, she does not "terrify" me in the slightest.

re: Does Sarah Brightman Terrify Anyone Else?

well, I learned a secret tactic when I ride a really crowded 1 to Columbia... start blasting her tunes of out my iPod and people seriously move away from me!!
I don't know if it changes my aura or something but I remember on a really crowded ride, this obnoxious woman would not take ONE step forward to let me in more so I was smashed up against her and the door (and folks, I'm big tall and beautiful!). So I started playing Fleur-de-Mal or Eden or something and she moved away!
This also happened on several different circumstances after that and keep it in mind! re: Does Sarah Brightman Terrify Anyone Else?

But I like her singing but yeah, once she divorced Lord Andy, she did turn more Enyaish and freakish. But regardless, if I was going to be in town for her concert at Madison Square Garden, Id definitely be there! Love her New age tunes
I once heard someone describe her (Ruthie Henshall) singing as sounding as though she's trying to swallow a whole meatball slightly larger than her windpipe. (The same person compared Michael Ball's singing to sounding as though he's sitting on a washing machine on spin cycle and Colm Wilkinson's to a man with a paralyzed lip trying to eat cottage cheese.) --- Schmerg_The_Impaler

I'm a huge fan of hers, got tickets for her concert in Boston, have about a dozen of her albums, and personally find her gorgeous, but yeah, I can see why people would find her creepy.

On a side note, I really wish I had the stomach to see Repo. It looks fantastic, but slasher movies are just so not my thing...

re: Does Sarah Brightman Terrify Anyone Else?

I just watched some of the repo scenes and I really do believe her eyes can do that in real life (not cgi!)

BTW, Schmerg, I need your help in adding another comparison to my sig for Sarah's singing!

EDIT: On a side note, I'm planning on going down and watching this film on Friday!

She sounds like she's singing through a ninety-foot crazy straw.

Maybe they should cast her in American Buffalo!
