Poll results will be posted this weekend.
To those of you who continue to post your negative viewpoints you are certainly entitled to articulate those opinions. A reminder, however, that only one vote will be counted per BWW member over 18.

Posted: 2/24/05 at 10:58pmwhile I dont see the point of paying for another Broadway message board for only adults, when you can just talk on this free site, Im not 18, so my vote doesnt count. But yeah for those who want it, go for it. Like Ellie said, if they want it, why stop them?

My official vote is yes, Jose', because if there are people who want it, they should have it. Why stop them?
Except that wasn't the question, was it? It was: For those over 18 - would you be willing to pay a nominal fee to access an Adults ONLY board?

au contraire, mon frer. i already pay for my use of the subway and to the extent that the mta's budget is subsidized by the state and city, i should have a voice in how my money is being spent. however, someone who could not, as a minor, legally pay for a service, need have no voice in whether said service should or should not be offered since either way they would not be able to legally utilize said service.
i admit, "involved" is the wrong word. please see below revision:
why, pray tell, give a vote to someone who would not, in fact by definition could not, legally partake in the service being debated?

"legally partake in the service being debated?" was the key phrase you added.
My sarcasm was that all the commuters of NYC were not given a vote for this latest fare hike.

Yes. Exactly. I especially love the fact that a person died because police couldn't reach them in time because of the closings too!
Reminds me of that fictional situation in "Backdraft". Papa - do you think people are making money off of tollbooths being shut down?
Still...when you look at the actual "situation" - $2 or $2.50 or whatever it is, is still pretty cheap to go ANYWHERE in the city..... Provided the subway line is operational that day

plus it's still cheaper than that if you buy weekly or monthly and use more than 10 rides a week like i do. going to the gym and back in the morning and then journeying into work and making a trip on the weekend has my average fare at $.88.
sure people are making money, they're paying through the nose for those new gates and their saving a buttload in salaries and future pensions with each firing.

I find it a bit rich that you first tell people not to be swayed by the negative posts on here, Jose', just to follow up TWICE (including in that very post) to inform us that the PMs so far have been positive in response.
