I noticed a huge swell of enthusiasm for Brewer after her Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day. Not only did she botch her debate in Stockdale-like fashion, it came out that the arrests under her controversial immigrant law will be housed in a private prison owned by her political cronies AND it was proven that her repeated claim that Arizona authorities find headless corpses littering the desert was completely made up.
I think it's that not only does the right-wing distrust educated people they WORSHIP stupidity. Look at the dim-witted but brightly shining stars of the party: Brewer, Bachmann, Palin- none of them smart enough to be cashier at a dollar store.

Wow, another REALLY awful day for Jan! She was forced to admit that there aren't piles of headless corpses scattered around the Arizona desert (and apologized "IF I ever said something like that") and issue a statement that she won't be debating again anytime soon, if ever.

For quite some time, there are some in Arizona who have claimed one of her sons turned out to be gay and she abandoned him - but I have never seen anything in print about it. Anyone have any knowledge?
I do see she lost a son a couple of years ago to cancer, which I wouldn't wish on anyone. But that doesn't really explain what appears to be a barely contained rage at the world (well, not to this extent, anyway.)
But, who am I to question a situation that has been fully orchestrated by God (according to her) . . .
She's a COWARD! No more debates!Liberal media and 'gotcha questions' made her look dumb.

As usual, Rachel says it as it is

I didn't realize "Governor, your opening statement?" is a gotcha question.
Any observation, comment, honest question, fact that makes you look bad/dumb, or anything which exposes hypocrisy or stupidity is considered a gotcha question. Just ask Sarah Palin. Katie Couric tricked her by asking her what newspapers and magazines she reads.........and the idiot could not even answer that EASY QUESTION. Because the media reported the story and made her look like an ass,it is therefore liberal.
The media is also to blame for making George W.Bush look a moron! I rest my case.
Though I've only seen limited clips of him, her opponent seems like a sane, reasonable man. And he trails Brewer by 19 points in a recent poll.
According to the logic of many others on this Board, the 19 point deficit will make her opponent a sure winner.
Please keep hitting Jan Brewer harder and harder. This overkill will increase her percentage of the vote.
I am sure the George Allen campaign had the exact same strategy after his 'Macaca moment' with a volunteer from the Jim Webb campaign when people had him running for president in '08.

Because Brewer tells them who is to blame for their problems. Voters don't want to know how to fix problems, that would mean effort on their part. It's much easier to ostracize a minority scapegoat with blatant lies and scare people into voting for you to save them. That's been the Republican party's political strategy since the mid-60s.

I rest my case as to Republicans liking candidates the more incompetent and dumb they are.
With Jimmy Carter and Barack Obama we rest our case that democrats/liberals love their incompetent Presidents.
LOL
Well, after pressure the coward FINALLY ADMITS she LIED!

To her single supporter who refused to believe, SUCK IT!

Jan was soooooooooo Cindy. I guess she forgot her thinking cap and Miss Smarty Pants fell right on her big fat ... head.
you're on the air, jan
Perhaps America deserves a President Palin for a term. It'd be kind of like that old sitcom convention in which a kid is discovered smoking and punished by having to smoke an entire pack in a single sitting.
Even her defenders can't excuse her. They have to change the subject and bring up something untrue and off topic. Her opponent sounds like a calm and rational man. Notice how when he asked her a simple question about the myth of these beheadings,(a question she later would admit she was wrong/lied) she decided to change the subject rather than address the facts? Sound familiar?

That's right, she cut and ran like Murtha.
It's so true that many Americans want to put people in office who are dumber than they are. Otherwise, the politician is an intellectual "elitist." And, yet, when these citizens want government intervention (banning gay marriage, Katrina, oil spill in Gulf) the politicians get held responsible if the reaction is delayed or falls short. You can't have it both ways! Especially the Republicans who want the government out of their home and money. If you really wanted that then gay marriage would be legal already.

Ug. My mother did that to me when I was a kid.
Craig Ferguson nails it! LOL!

Craig's right. It's better. And probably an accurate description of what was gong on in her intestines at that moment.

Seriously, look at the modern Republican party: They have flat out contempt for anyone with above average intelligence (like, say, Barack Obama or Jimmy Carter) and cannot get enough of the drooling morons (insert the name of any Republican Presidential Potential here).
Last week, John McLaughhlin actually hailed Michele Bachmann as a potential VP candidate in 2012. Can you imagine- Palin/Bachman? Add their two IQs together and you STILL don't hit triple digits.
Remember, Al Gore was battered by the press for his performance in EACH one of his debates for looking too smart while W was hailed despite being wrong, ill-informed and flat out dumb- because he seemed (and I quote) 'like a guy you'd want to have a beer with!'
I guess if we had a national election to select beer drinker in chief I probably would have voted for him.
