The live coverage at MIT was just interrupted by several fire trucks and the local newscasters just reported a suspicious package a couple of blocks from the MIT scene. Really an endless week.

i guess I am not getting sleep soon. Apparently there was a car chase with many police jurisdictions and the FBI that may have been related to the MIT killing and/or a carjacking on Memorial Drive, which runs between MIT and the Charles River in Cambridge. The chase crossed the Cambridge border into neighboring Watertown. Neighbors report hearing explosions and gun shots. Good lord.

They told reporters on their scenes to turn off their cell phones. Explosives are still a major concern.

Had I gone to bed at 11:30, I might have woken up in the morning to the end of this story. Right now it's like a Christopher Nolan movie.

Nobody on the live news feeds wants to make the leap, but I am certainly hoping that with reports of the presence of FBI, multiple city police departments, homeland security and the state police, that these guys are the FBI's marathon suspects.

The news is really good when it first breaks...then when the lamestream takes over and it's crap. Good local reporting so far. kinda scary, in the scheme of things.

The Channel 7 live feed online is up. National news and just CNN in general is just too frustrating. Channel 7 much more cautious although I am antsy watching that many police officers appearing on the feed looking in a rush.

My best friend just moved to Boston last week and another good friend is doing grad work at MIT. Both are safe but I cannot imagine any activity in the area tomorrow.

This has been a tough week. Apparently the 7-11 that is mere feet from the office I have been working out of for the past 10 months was robbed as part of this huge burst of criminal activity. PLEASE let this be the marathon suspects or I may lose my mind like Bernadette in Follies.

There's a whole lot tht the lamestream media is not telling.
Would be surprised if these incidents are NOT connected. Just seems too obvious. Who was that kid/suspect splayed on the ground with the guns pointed?

A guy I work with lives in Watertown and he has a lot of police activity right in his own yard...stay safe everyone!

Well at least the identity of the suspects have names. 2 Russian brothers. One dead, one still on the loose. Tamerlan Tzarnaev, 26, got run over by his brother Dzhokhar, 19, in the escape.

I was getting uncomfortable reading on Twitter with people speculating it was the missing Brown University student, Sunil Tripathi as Suspect #2. Like there were websites posting tweets on Brown students speculating he 'looked' like the blurred, pixelated images of the suspects and posting these photos of him in a Che t-shirt but nothing that connected him to violence or possible knowledge in bomb-building.

The suspect at large, Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, is 19, was born in Kyrgyzstan and has a Massachusetts driver’s license, they said.

This really is like a Nolan movie.

Never in a million years would I have expected to learn that one of the perpetrators to be so young.

I can't even describe my feelings right now. Maybe "numb" is the best word to use. However, I am glad to see the speed of the investigation. Way to go Boston PD, FBI, and all other agencies involved.

I have ONLY heard that he was shot first, run over second.

If we're not having fun, then why are we doing it? These are DISCUSSION boards, not mutual admiration boards. Discussion only occurs when we are willing to hear what others are thinking, regardless of whether it is alignment to our own thoughts.
