re: FANNY

Sorry.
One if the name of a beautiful woman who became a Gurumai.
The second possible name is that of a beautiful woman of the ballet.

Thought I'd bump this in case any of the newer members have any Fannies to mention.

re: FANNY

Fanny Sebastiani, Duchesse de Choiseul-Praslin. Murdered in Paris, 1847 by her husband, the Duke. Played extravagantly by Barbara O'Neil in ALL THIS AND HEAVEN TOO.

[Edited for accuracy and spelling. Fanny Sebastiani's governess was a member of the Mendelssohn family, but her first name was Henriette. Later, the governess to Fanny's own children also had the name Henriette.]

Cheyenne Jackson tickled me. AFTER ordering SoMMS a drink but NOT tickling him, and hanging out with Girly in his dressing room (where he DIDN'T tickle her) but BEFORE we got married. To others. And then he tweeted Boobs. He also tweeted he's good friends with some chick on "The Voice" who just happens to be good friends with Tink's ex. And I'm still married. Oh, and this just in: "Pettiness, spite, malice ....Such ugly emotions... So sad." - After Eight, talking about MEEEEEEEE!!! I'm so honored! :-)

re: FANNY

Is that a Bette Davis film?
" ...the happiness in the tune convinces me that I'm not afraid."

re: FANNY

Yes, it is. One of Bette's most restrained and haunting performances. Charles Boyer played the Duke. Bette played Henriette Desportes, the Praslin children's governess.

re: FANNY

We had this poor exchange student from Singapore at high School whose name was Fanny Pong. Then there's Fanny Craddock that mental British t.v. cook whose husband used to say "Here's hoping all your meals turn out looking like Fanny's!" at the end of every episode.

A new french opera is in the works called "Marius and Fanny".
~And let us try, before we die, to make some sense of life~

re: FANNY

"Marius and Fanny" is obviously based on the same trilogy of films that inspired the Harold Rome musical.

re: FANNY

Fanny Flagg, a comic - - did I dream that? Or is that name for real! That is
a definite maybe I guess.
#92

re: FANNY

Yes, comedienne Fannie Flagg - who also wrote the novel "Fried Green Tomatoes at the Whistlestop Cafe" - on which the movie FRIED GREEN TOMATOES was based.

Another novelist - Fannie Hurst, who wrote trashy romances in the 19th century, was immortalized by Mel Brooks in the theme song from his briliant, but little known movie THE TWELVE CHAIRS:

HOPE FOR THE BEST
EXPECT THE WORST
YOU COULD BE TOLSTOY
OR FANNIE HURST
