I've come to the conclusion that I am insane. I work at school, I work at work, I work at home, I rarely have fun, and if I do anything at all in my free time I think about things that if I do anything about them it will make them worse, which is why I only get 1-4 hours sleep, if I'm lucky. I can't wait to actually use my BS training because, now, life is a frustrating cycle of BS. Hooah!

Translating the Bible; "Go F*ck Yourself"

When you are reading something or in a conversation with someone not everything is to be taken literally. If you are in a conversation with someone and they tell you to "Go f*ck yourself" do you go ahead and do it? No, for you know when they gave that command they did not mean it literally but they got their point acrossed. Instead you try to learn from what encouraged them to say that in order to make yourself a better person. If you translate that in this way why would you not do the same with the Bible?

EXAMPLE: Matthew 5:29 "If your right eye causes you to sin, gouge it out and throw it away. It is better for you to lose one part of your body than for your whole body to be thrown into hell."

Think about it.

That's some progressive bible studyin'.

When I was 12 or so, a friend and I did a version of "Parents Just Don't Understand" at one of those make-your-own-tape studio things at a Six Flags park. I shudder to think what that could portend.

I don't know, Calvin - He's got Fight Club listed in his top movies. I have never met a straight guy who liked Fight Club that I did not go on to sleep with. It's like they're begging for it.
