Family Guy Kills Off Main Character *SPOILERS*

Family Guy's Brian Griffin was hit by a car and killed on last night's episode. Stewie dismantled his time machine so it can't be undone. I'm genuinely upset by this.

Brian Griffin Died Last Night

Alright, let's just stay calm. The show is a cash cow for FOX and it's been renewed for several more season.

Stewie and Brian are the show.

I'm sure that he'll be back next week.

I have to confess I've watched only sporadically for the last few years, but that's just mean (if it's true that it's for realz permanent).

It does seem kind of stupid just to kill him off like that. I don't think they would have made such a big deal of it if he was coming back.

If he does come back the only thing I can think of is he will have seen God/heaven and a plot will develop around him renouncing his atheism.

I read somewhere Oswald was driving the car. But I doubt he was alone.

They couldn't possibly break the laws of physics. If Stewie dismantled his time machine, it's done. Such a shame.

You mean about the Kennedy thing, right?

I hope they have that charming alien from American Dud replace him, he's so not politically correct but it's okay because he makes fun of everybody equally like colored people and disables.

You are really upset by this? Really?

Haven't they done this sort of thing before on the show? I kept waiting for Stewie to rebuild the time machine but when that didn't happen I just assumed we'd see Brian in the next episode as if nothing happened. Anyone who genuinely thinks Brian is now off the show for good really needs to get a life. At most he'll be off for a few episodes til this all plays out.

I doubt he will see heaven because if they have a time machine then his death will be prevented and the current Brian will have no memory of dying or any clues to an after life.

You guys remember when they used to kill Kenny on South Park? It's a cartoon so I'm sure he'll be brought back to life.

Brian Griffin Died Last Night

Indeed I am. Prostrate on the floor sobbing and clutching my pearls in my fat little fists.

Yes, of course Brian's died before. I've lost count of all the times Peter's kicked it. MacFarlane certainly makes it sound like he's gone for good. Probably just a lazy way of shoehorning in the new dog.

There is no time machine but Stewie was looking at rebuilding a new one.If he built one he can build another.

I read the E article and still don't think it's permanent. I think they are playing it as if it is for ratings and attention. Brian is a big part of the show and to go on without him is like the Simpson's killing off Bart.

So, why was Brian's death here not as important as last nights?

Stewie's broken and rebuilt that time machine a few times already so...

But if it's true I will actually be really sad. This show, more than any other, has kept me laughing consistently for 11 years. And most of those laughs came from Brian and Stewie's interplay. I can't imagine it without Brian.

And for those watch the show, this quote seems highly unusual:

As much as we love Brian, and as much as everyone loves their pets, we felt it would be more traumatic to lose one of the kids, rather than the family pet

Ok, maybe in real life, but in this cartoon NOBODY would be traumatized if Meg died. Assuming anyone even noticed she's gone I think they would probably be relieved that she died. It's a running joke for Pete's sake. (pun intended)

If they want Brian back they can always "say" the episode(s) were all a nightmare and he never died.

One of my coworkers did say that he actually was crying while watching the episode.

I don't think they'd be willing to jettison the Everyone Sh*ts on Meg storyline.

One of the writers hinted that Brian will be returning. My guess is they will bring him back for the season finale.

Yea, I mean there is no way they can take him out.

As for the Simpsons, I kinda wish that they would all die at this point. That show hasn't been funny is a long while.

"Lois will find Brian taking a shower. It was all a dream."

They've already done that with actual Patrick Duffy so I would hope not.
