It can be any any game ranging from board games to outdoor fun.
I remember I loved playing this game where you got to hold this huge parachute with other kids and whenever it went up someone got to go under it for a short period of time and then they had to go back to their spot. I also loved playing capture the flag and four squares.

Also, my brother and I played this game with my Uncle called "Battle." We used to set up a whole bunch of plastic Army men- 50 on my brother's side, and 50 on mine. Then, we would try to hit and knock down the men with a penny. The first one to knock out the whole army was the winner.

I used to love Red Rover! And Marco Polo in the pool at summertime. I was also a big D&D geek.
Burning ants with a magnifying glass was also good, clean fun.

(I'm going back to the 50's for this)
Outside -
Softball
Bike races
God (this one was limited to rainy days. We'd put on our bathing suits and play around out in the rain - splashing in curbs, etc. As soon as the rain stopped, we'd go find a small tree and then whoever got to be GOD would talk in a loud, Cecil B. DeMille type voice and shake the tree on everybody else and make it rain.)
Grasshopper or toad or frog jumping contests. (Catch the biggest you could find and hope for the best)
Favorite outdoor activity was acting out the shows we'd watch on Walt Disney or the Mouseketeers. We'd each take one of the parts of the kids on the shows and play out the whole story. Great fun.
Indoors - mostly board games, like Life, Monopoly, or (my favorite) Clue.
A click for life.

Did anyone actually ever play Mousetrap the way it was supposed to be played?
Or did they, like me, just try to get the mousetrap to work?
#22re: Favorite Games You Played As A Kid
Posted: 4/14/08 at 2:08pmI know that when you actually played, Calvin, the damn bucket would never fall like it was supposed to. I hated that game...such a disappointment!

Kickball was my favorite outdoor game. My favorite board games were and still are Monopoly and Scrabble. On the other hand, my brother's favorite game was undresing my Barbie dolls.
