Rebecca, Psycho, Spellbound, Rear Window, Lifeboat.

Tho the first I ever saw, as a kid, was The Birds...so it is my favorite...and Rod Taylor is so sexy!

I love The Birds... that is one of my favorite movies of all-time.

I also really like Vertigo, Rear Window, and Shadow of a Doubt.

Rear Window, Psycho and Vertigo.

Love the black humour of Psycho -"Mother's not feeling very well' and the broodingly intense string score of Herrmann.
Final shot of North by Northwest is a classic. As are the sensational titles both to this and Pyscho - Sean Bass.

I love most of them, but Rear Window is my choice. Psycho, North by Northwest, and Vertigo are up there.

It's hard to beat Tallulah in LIFEBOAT.

hitchcock is my favorite director ... but it would be difficult to choose one favorite film.

similarly, monet is my favorite artist ... but i don't have just one favorite work.

that said, two that i've seen MANY times and never grow tired of are REBECCA and THE LADY VANISHES :)

I can't believe that "Rope" has been so neglected thus far. Masterfully written, filmed, and acted. And much, much, much better than the play.

"Goodness is rewarded. Hope is guaranteed. Laughter builds strong bones. Right will intercede. Things you've said I often find I need, indeed. I see the world through your eyes. What's black and white is colorized. The knowledge you most dearly prized I'm eager to employ. You said that life has infinite joys."

Someone else mentioned ROPE. It's never been neglected by me. It just isn't in my top 10. But, I really like the film, and have seen it, many times.

I like The Trouble With Harry and The Wrong Man quite a bit, also.

And you have to love that glowing glass of milk in Suspicion.

"The gods who nurse this universe think little of mortals' cares. They sit in crowds on exclusive clouds and laugh at our love affairs. I might have had a real romance if they'd given me a chance. I loved him, but he didn't love me. I wanted him, but he didn't want me. Then the gods had a spree and indulged in another whim. Now he loves me, but I don't love him." - Cole Porter

While there are so many great Hitchcock films ( I always have trouble saying that any Hithcock film is bad) my choices go as follows:

1. North By Northwest
2. Psycho
3. Vertigo
4. The Birds
5. The Lady Vanishes
6. Frenzy
7. Family Plot
8. Notorious
9. Marnie
10. To Catch a Theif/Rear Window

Ugh, it's too hard to come up with a top ten. I love ALL his films!

Good one, MrMidwest - I love The Trouble With Harry.

"He looked exactly the same when he was alive, only he was vertical."

Has anybody seen the British version of Strangers on a Train? My DVD copy is a double feature with both the American and British prints. It's even more surreal than the American one.

Don't be too sure I'm as crooked as I'm supposed to be.
